TV News Bunnies And Truth In Reporting

In the event you’ve never had a borderline obsessive (and yet historically well-indulged) fetish for TV newsbabes, then it’s doubtful you’ve spent much time perusing the online biographies of these, um, “journalists.”

Basically, they read like Playboy bunny bios, except with no nudity – and a bunch of TV station call letters thrown in.

Not a good trade-off, is it?

Anyway, while perusing coverage of S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford’s recently released executive budget (that’s just how we roll on the weekends), we happened to stumble upon a new local “news bunny” – as well as an especially informative report she prepared for WACH TV 57 (FOX  – Columbia, S.C.).

Unlike the vast majority of misleading MSM coverage about state spending in South Carolina, this story actually reported on the total amount of the state budget (including federal funds and “other” fees) – which it’s worth noting will be well north of $20 billion again this year as opposed to just south of $6 billion.

Big difference, right?

Impressed, we clicked on the bio of the reporter, Emily Pace, who was hired at WACH in December of 2009 from some TV station in Michigan (upper peninsula, actually – which means she can’t point to where she lived on “the mitten”).

From her bio:

Emily is very happy to be back in warm, sunny South Carolina. Her winter coats, gloves, hats, snow pants and boots have been packed away.

Ummm … yeah, about that warmth and sunniness

Anyway, while we obviously wouldn’t recommend taking meteorological advice from the lovely Ms. Pace, it appears as though she’s one of the few MSM reporters who’s shooting the public straight as to the true size of the state budget.

Good for her, and good for WACH TV 57 …
