Democrats Slip Below Majority In 2009

donkey

The percentage of Americans who identify themselves as Democrats (or lean toward the Democratic party) fell below 50% in 2009, according to Gallup polling data released this week.

In 2008, 51.5% of Americans either called themselves democrats or leaned toward the Democratic party – a number that slipped to 49% last year. The GOP failed to capitalize on these defections, however, as the percentage of Americans who call themselves Republicans (or lean toward the Republican party) rose by less than a percent – from 39.8% to 40.7%.

These trends grew more pronounced as the year wore on, though.

Democrats started the year with 51.7% support, but by December that number had fallen to 47.2% – a 4.5% decline. Meanwhile, Republicans started the year with 38.7% support, but finished the year at 42.2% – a 3.5% increase.

Republican support peaked in September at 42.4%.

For what it’s worth, both parties absolutely “suck donkey balls,” as our founding editor is fond of saying.

Neither one gives a rip about the taxpayers, as this past decade has conclusively proven.

No wonder a Rasmussen poll released last month showed a hypothetical conservative “Tea party” beating out Republicans at the polls.

If this congress and this administration continue on the path they have been on, the percent of people calling themselves democrats is going to fall even further and faster. I personally wish a viable 3rd party would develop and grow. Not referring to the Libertarian BTW. I would like to see a party that based itself primarily on our Constitution and survival of our country.

Unfortunately, the term “libertarian” has become the new republican alias. You can polish a turd all you want, but it’s still gonna be a piece of shit.

Since the left has decided that “Tea Bagger” is now acceptable in the American vernacular, I am going to start referring to the Supporters Of The Agenda / New American Left ™ as “Cleveland Steamers”.

And what they are doing to the American people as the “Roman War Helmet”.
