Ground, Freezing
Despite rabid protests from the global warming crowd, the Farmer’s Almanac told us that this winter would feature “bitter, numbing cold.”
And boy was it ever was right.
Since the winter solstice kicked off the official start of the season on December 18, it’s been colder than the proverbial witch’s tit around here, no doubt doing as much to derail the momentum behind the “global warming” movement as the Climategate email scandal.
In fact, the winter of 2009-2010 could be the coldest season in more than a quarter century, according to AccuWeather forecasts.
The entire eastern half of the continental U.S. is currently enduring bitterly cold temperatures not experienced since 1985 thanks to a particularly strong “Arctic snap.” We felt the strength of that snap ourselves last weekend in Alabama, and here in South Carolina, the state is experiencing its coldest stretch of winter weather since 1981.
And we’re less than a month into the season.
Of course, as always seems to be the case, the Palmetto State is getting the shaft on the whole snowfall front.
Despite several consecutive days of freezing temperatures, there hasn’t been a cloud in the sky all week – although South Carolina is in line for a dusting of snow late Tuesday night and early Friday morning.
Oh, and for those of you who think it’s silly to formulate your position on global warming (cooling?) based on the current temperature outside (or even isolated seasonal temperatures), we agree … although you might want to tell that to global warming proponent “Clinch” Heyward, president of the S.C. Wildlife Federation.
Really … tell him.
And while you’re at it, ask him to explain why we need to raise energy taxes on the average South Carolina family by as much as $4,000 a year – all to address a threat that scientists are backpedaling on faster than you can say “Lance Williams on rewind.”

O my! The Emperor is wearing no clothes!
Al Gore, the magical tailor, who “spins” cloth that only the “wise” can see, should be run out of town on a rail!

I don’t know where I stand on this climate change debate. I think the climate is always changing. Always will. But I’m undecided on whether (weather) or not man is causing the changes to happen faster or are we slowing the change?

I know you guys are smart enough to figure out that the ‘undiewear bomber’ took your attention off of climategate, in quick fashion I might add.
think about it

… Where is Al Gore? He can come over and ice skate on my pool.

Shit man I am a scientist and I am still undecided on global warming. I know its fucking cold out right now but glaciers and ice caps are disappearing. Do I know if this is just a cyclical trend or a man made disaster. Fuck if I know?

Genomic Repairman,
AGM is real (Anthropomorphic Global Warming)!
Mother Earth has a fevah! She is sick! I can cure it for you.
Just give me a cool $1oo million and I’ll fix that fevah!
(And yeah…it will increase your energy bills between 3-4K/year…but like Biden said a few weeks ago–the recession is over!)

Global warming will involve years of highly erratic weather. I have been expecting a bitchin’ winter for several years. In the next two or three years I also expect the summer from hell. You may be surprised by it but I won’t be. I am about 20 years into this global warming thing – - NOT a newcomer and I am pretty damn confident we’re up chit creek already. We have passed the tipping point.

If Nancy Pelosi and Mr. Obama and Hollyweird celebs truly believe in global warming, then why do they insist on flying gas-guzzling jets to exotic vacation locales all over the world, whilst lecturing me on my dependence on a SUV to cart my kids to soccer practice?

Global Warming? How about Global Crowding? There are just to many damn people on this planet. The aquarium glass on planet earth is scumming over. We need to find a couple of blue and red planets and start sailing for greener pastures. Those who want to stay behind and try to “change” things can have at it. I’m ready for some traveling time. Survival of the fittest. Gen. Robert E. Lee said a man has two choices–he can choose an umbrella or he can carry a sword. Screw the rain!

Come on guys, global warming is real. But don’t worry, we have a lot more time than the “cynics” on the left purport before we all burn alive. I hope this brings comfort to you guys still trying to win the Civil War.
As far as a new energy tax, not sure. Our state government must simply hate us; want to force communism on us; forced labor camps then; certain arbitrary death – like Stalin.
Haha, you cynics are a nickel holdin’ up a dime.
