“On Earth Peace, Good Will Toward Men”

adoration

Here is the story of the first Christmas, as recorded in the Gospel of Luke, Chapter 2 (verses 1-20) using the translation of the Authorized King James Version of the Holy Bible …

[1] And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.
[2] (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
[3] And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.
[4] And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)
[5] To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
[6] And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
[7] And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
[8] And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
[9] And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
[10] And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
[11] For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
[12] And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
[13] And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
[14] Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
[15] And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
[16] And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
[17] And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.
[18] And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
[19] But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
[20] And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

How about a little music to go along with the story of God’s greatest gift:

Sandi Patty singing “O Holy Night”:

And then listen to Sandi’s AMAZING rendition of “How Great Thou Art” – 3 minutes into the song and you’ll know why it’s a favorite of mine – Sandi ROCKS:

Does everyone know that the ass clown writing this crap and responsible for this site is a “former” gubernatorial spokesman because he plead guilty to criminal domestic violence. Nothing like taking your news from someone who beats up women.

What a joke this guy is. How about picking on someone your own size, Nancy?

And since I’m sure Will is moderating this: Merry Christmas you cowardly pussy.

    John,

2005 called. It wants its attempt to discredit this website back.

    From Sic’s official FITS bio:

… people tend to believe what they read in the papers.

Speaking of which, the most controversial and highly-publicized incident involving Folks was his September 2005 guilty plea on a first offense criminal domestic violence charge. He swears to this day he didn’t do it, but this issue is brought up almost daily by those who are unable to match Folks’ rhetorical skills and are looking for something to shut him up.

    Obviously, it hasn’t worked …

Nor will it work now. Merry Christmas, though, and may God keep you from finding yourself between us and a piece of imaginary furniture.

Can anyone disagree with what President Obama told a group of kids on Monday:

“THE PRESIDENT: The birth of baby Jesus, and what he symbolizes for people all around the world is the possibility of peace and people treating each other with respect. And so I just hope that spirit of giving that’s so important at Christmas, I hope all of you guys remember that as well. You know, it’s not just about getting gifts but it’s also doing something for other people. So being nice to your mom and dad and grandma and aunties and showing respect to people — that’s really important too, that’s part of the Christmas spirit, don’t you think? Do you agree with me?

“You know, the three wise men, if you think about it, here are these guys, they have all this money, they’ve got all this wealth and power, and yet they took a long trip to a manger just to see a little baby. And it just shows you that just because you’re powerful or you’re wealthy, that’s not what’s important. What’s important is what’s — the kind of spirit you have.

“So I hope everybody has a spirit of kindness and thoughtfulness, and everybody is really thinking about how can they do for other people ‘– treating them well, because that’s really the spirit of Christmas.”

Why, hell, yes, someone can disagree. Columnist Cal Thomas can.

“To the president, this means the spirit of government taking from the productive and giving to the nonproductive. To Him, Jesus is a socialist, or perhaps an early Robin Hood….Jesus of Nazareth was not a symbol. As Paul the Apostle put it, ‘Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners — of whom I am the worst.’ (1Timothy 1:15)

So, don’t invite Ole Cal to your kid’s birthday unless you want to hear about the Apocalyse, Ghost Riders in the Sky, the Lake of Fire, and Eternal Damnation. You know the true meaning of Christianity.

skidmarks….Wow, Cal is paying attention.I usually don’t listen much to the president.I need to pay closer attention. This definitely has a socialist message. When have you ever heard Christ’s birth brought forward using the wealth of the wisemen and how much they should give others?
Thanks for pointing out the truth…
Remeber folks…when we all are the same having nothing. It will be ok.Because it is all good when you have the spirit of knowing its all for the good of the collective.
