Killin’ “Nat-sees” On Blu Ray
The presents? They’ve all been opened. The delectable food and candy? Consumed. The relatives? Visited. Church? Attended. Nap? Taken.
The kids? They’re (finally) asleep.
So … what are Sic (and Mrs. Sic) doing at 7:15 p.m. on a cool Christmas night in Columbia, S.C.?
Killin’ “Nat-sees” on our founding editor’s new Blu Ray disc player.
We’re referring, of course, to Quentin Tarantino’s latest flic Inglourious Basterds – which just came out on DVD and (drumroll, please) Blu Ray.
For those of you unfamiliar with our method of “reviewing” motion pictures here at FITS, Mr and Mrs. Sic subscribe to “PJ Theatre,” which is another way of saying they wait till DVD’s hit the 2 for $20 bin at Blockbuster before investing in them.
Then we get DJ Slick (the ultimate alpha male movie critic) to review them.
Anyway the star of Inglourious Basterds, Brad Pitt, says this is the greatest WW II film ever … a claim which Sic has disputed.
Time to find out …
UPDATE: Wow. What an amazing movie. Easily Tarantino’s best effort since Pulp Fiction. And while Basterds may not be the “genre-topper” that Pitt claims, it’s pretty sensational. Now Playing: The Hangover.

Inglourious Basterds is a great movie. It even stopped the video games the 18 and 19 year olds were playing. Max_Power Jr. and Max_Power III were pleasant to each other and their old man. I give Inglourious Basterds five of five scalps.

John Brody — sometimes people in love fight. I was just looking around my house this morning at all the things that need to be touched up and/or repaired after these 22 years of love making. There are cuts in the kitchen floor from plates being thrown…nicks in the walls from various and sundry items that flew around in the heat of the moment…
But my favorites are the dents in the wood frame around the bathroom window where the ironing board just WOULD NOT GO THROUGH it. Now wouldn’t that have been a pretty site for the neighbors to see the next morning? Ironing board legs up on the lawn. Umm. It’s exciting just thinking about it all.

Based on your linked story, I don’t read any criminal domestic violence. Just ’cause slick (sic) willie pleaded, doesn’t make it so.

What’s the point of your post? FITS has never tried to hide that, as far as I can tell. Are you saying he shouldn’t have a website because of what’s in his past? If so, then a lot of our “newcasting” types will be off the grid pretty quickly. Or, are you just ’sharing’ for some personal reason?

Yeah, some of these former SS types did move to South America and got into the wine bizness, as well as the automotive parts bizness, too. Some of the Schmidt’s got into the shoe and leather industry as well. Down in Argentina they got into trading grains and such–not to mention a little politics. One of their little darlings even got tangled up with a governor from Dixieland.

WTF? You’re obviously a tool for inferring that a plea to CDV is tantamount to some weird lifetime ban on gainful employment (or the ability to express an opinion). What possible relevance does that have to covering politics? Plus, waaaaay old news.
I’ve been in politics for a long time, and it’s been my experience that most often those who yelp and harp the loudest about the flaws in others have the most to hide themselves.
