Socialized Medicine Sails Through Senate
U.S. President Barack Obama’s vision of socialized medicine cleared the U.S. Senate last night on another straight party-line vote, meaning the White House is one step away from pulling off the largest expansion of government since its failed “economic stimulus” plan back in February.
Democrats claim their version of the “health care reform” will cost $871 billion over ten years – with accompanying savings to Medicaid ostensibly resulting in a $132 billion reduction in the deficit.
Republicans say those numbers are fictitious. They counter that the plan’s price tag is really around $2.5 trillion, and that Democrats are “double-counting” their spending cuts. That means the plan could add up to $300 billion to the budget deficit – which currently stands at an unprecedented $1.5 trillion.
Either way, despite the opposition of at least 56% of the American people, a socialized medicine proposal has now made it out of both legislative bodies – which means a compromise bill will now be hammered out.
Unlike the House bill, the Senate health care bill doesn’t included a “public option,” per se, but it does include massive government manipulation of the marketplace.
This excessive regulation could easily put private plans out of business – or at the very least force them to pass on huge cost increases to American families and small businesses that are already paying through the nose for health care coverage.
In addition to granting Orwellian power to the U.S Office on Personnel Management (the government entity that would “administer” various state health care markets), the Senate bill gives the federal government the authority to define what medical services private plans must cover, to set their deductible limits and to fix mandatory minimum amounts that must be spent on medical claims.
That’s why we’re still calling it “socialized medicine.”
There are also serious Constitutional concerns with the Senate legislation, including a provision uncovered by U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina) that would actually prohibit future Congresses from repealing certain provisions of the controversial legislation.
Say what?
Yup, it’s true.
In addition to the lousy policy associated with this unprecedented D.C. power grab, the way this bill was passed made a mockery of the democratic process – with two lawmakers basically taking bribes for their states straight out of the public treasury.
The payoffs made to Louisiana and Nebraska in order to secure the “swing votes”

I’d like to talk about the numerous flaws of the plan but after reading this I’d just like to say this:
Republicans: Go suck it. You lost – again – now go make me a sandwich.
By sam on December 24th, 2009 at 10:27 am
You are right Pat: Republicans you lost!
And so did our kids, grandkids, and all future generations of Americans who will never have the money or freedoms their grandparents enjoyed.
But, hey, the Democrats will always have their boots on the necks of the American taxpayer from henceforth.
Just like the stimulus funds have gone thus far 2:1 to Democrat districts, I suspect you better vote Democrat if you want quality healthcare–it’s all a part of the Democrat scheme.
Genius, really.

If you think Democrats did this out of the goodness of their bleeding little hearts, I have a couple of acres of bog land I would like to sell you. Like the old saying goes – “follow the money”. Democrats expect to either gain future voters or campaign donations (or bribes). For these turkeys to vote 60-39 for a bill that polls show 56% of Americans do not want, there has to be gain (for them not the uninsured)involved.

I think this will greatly increase the wave of animosity of most Americans, and push them to finally do something. It is just going to take the right action and the right leader for the dam to break. Then this country will change immensely.
The economic depression that will start to unveil itself next year will add some very explosive fuel to the fire….

Pat–you’re quoting Pamela Anderson now–truly a high-brow–but I’m not surprised.
To support The Statist Party’s latest 2 trillion dollar giveaway to “fat cat” insurance companies you must have some serious intellectual deficits.

Does everyone know that the ass clown writing this crap and responsible for this site is a “former” gubernatorial spokesman because he plead guilty to criminal domestic violence. Nothing like taking your news from someone who beats up women.
What a joke this guy is. How about picking on someone your own size, Nancy?

2005 called. It wants its attempt to discredit this website back.
From Sic’s official FITS bio:
Nor will it work now. Merry Christmas, though, and may God keep you from finding yourself between us and a piece of imaginary furniture.

To All: You know it’s like the concept of expecting your banker to make things better for your mortgage during the times of a recession/depression. You have to ask yourself, “Does my banker do this to help me out?” No, of course not, he does this in the best interests of preserving his ongoing ability for capital growth! This is capitalism, my friends, and it is a well known fact that capitalism requires two things to survive: 1.) Constant growth, to allow those in control of the markets to stay ahead of their competitors to prevent them from threatening their control over these markets, and 2.) the ongoing existence of a hierarchical society, where the wealthy exploit the working class to make their money, those in poverty serve as an example to those in the working class to keep working or become one of them, and the working class remains too busy trying to keep their jobs and pay their existing bills to be concerned with less egoistically driven causes in the world like considering concepts like, “What is in the best interests of all humanity?”
As far as your arguments concerning what is right, what is wrong, did the democrats finally get their way, do the republicans oppose socialized medicine for justified reasons? These are questions asked by a distracted people whose attention is focused on issues of triviality in the a time that our attention should be focused more on the causes of our problems and not on the treatment of its symptoms as a vain effort to try to cure the disease that we currently suffer from. There is no relevent issue of democrats or republicans, who supports what, why, when, and how! Our politicians are corrupted by an oligarchical society who funds the campaigns through which they get the people elected who will support the causes of interest which are to ultimately prolong the existing status quo for as long as it can be achieved! As as long this status quo exists, the existing system will continue to operate to the advantage of the wealthy in this oligarchical society that has evolved before us. There is no need to concern yourselves with the facts of whether this republican or that democrat is supporting the best interests of any particular proposition, statute, law or government bill. They are bought & paid for my friends! If the elected official doesn’t carry out their paid purpose, they are eliminated by whatever means necessary! If they do, they are rewarded with the ability to exploit others as an egoistic interest to promote this continued existence of an ongoign status quo that will insure that this power of manipulation remains in the hands of those who can afford to pay for it.
In order to see the perspective, sometimes you have to take a couple steps back so that your focus isn’t so distracted by the specific items designed to keep your attention from seeing and understanding the big picture. At the state of existence of our oligarchical society there is no hope for redemptive change (i.e. electing politicians in the hopes that they will create adequate change for the good of all society). The reason for this is simply because our society’s set up on a sovereign nation-station system promotes the ability for independent governments to be controlled by the corporate industry as the corporate industry has grown to a level of international marketing where the government operates on a national level. The ability of any elected government official on a national level, no matter how good his/her intentions from the start may be, are insignificant next to the the power of those who control the corporate markets (i.e. bank owners, etc.). It is a fact that the continued existence of the sovereign nation-state system is a means by which the wealthy can control government by maintaining the threat that if you don’t do what we want, we will simply find another who will and you will have to answer to the governed society for the drop in economy, jobs, etc. once we leave! This power extends to the point that we have an oligarchical system at the international level which supersedes the ability of control of the existing governments at the nation-state levels. Dealing with these puny squabbles of this, that, and the other, are a means of keeping the people’s attention distracted on matters of insignificance so that the cause of the true problem is not realized at the fundamental level of society. It promotes the existence of a society whose fundamental drive is at the egoistic level of concern (due to their financial necessity)so that the ability for the potential for the realization of this truth and the resulting unification of society to solve the fundamental cause of this problem, can be kept as unlikely as possible from happening. Our oligarchical society is at a point in which its power would never allow for any effort of “redemptive change” to be successful to a point that it could threaten its continued existence.

To All: (In Continuation from where I left off)
For this reason the only remaining solution is for a “revolutionary change”. The same situation occurred in the founding of our Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution because the founding fathers realized that there was no hope for any “redemptive change” in the interests of the colonies for they were merely tools for financial gain to the Monoarchical government that was in control under King George III at this time. So in realizing the need for such “revolutionary change” The founding fathers created a newly founded society on a nation-states basis and thus was the birth of the United States of America. However, in writing of this constitution, the founding fathers had to create a system with a “built-in” advantage to the wealthy, since these were the educated people of society, to be able to hold things together and give things a second shot if, for some unforeseeable reason, this newly founded democratic government failed. And that fundamental advantage that the founding fathers had written into the constitution to give them the ability to do this was through the advantage that the wealthy would have in this capitalistic society. However, over time, as our capitalistic economy continued to grow exceeding its influence over just national levels, after manifest destiny was achieved, and the growth to international markets continued as one of the elemental requirements of capitalism (continued growth), this advantage was exploited more and more by the modern day wealthy generations to the point that our constitution (which rules on a national level) had virtually become powerless to control these oligarchical rulers who had influence and control to markets international levels. As, a result, these people who control the world are in situations where they have to try to impress their markets into other countries to continue this required growth. And, once the expansion of markets has exceeded its limits, its only means for growth is to start taking over existing markets & competitors in a catabolic effort which creates a situation of dominance of fewer and fewer over the existing markets of the many people throughout the world. This increases the existence of terrorism (as the only result of rebellion against this form of oppression & exploitation). For instance, our military interest in the middle east is to maintain control over those markets not as this so called “war on terrorism” which is meant to be a distraction to the people that we the people of the United States, will not be subjected to terrorist actions by “crazy” people who crash airplanes into our buildings. Terrorism is the response of an oppressed people. We, the United States, oppress many nations and markets around the world in the interests of exploiting them to get cheap labor & resources, to make greater individual profits in this capitalistic battle for control. The question comes to the point that we must ask ourselves, “Where does this end?” It will only end at the point in which one individual has absolute control over the entire earth or through the experiences of this there comes a group of people who realize the truth that this “ongoing status quo”, this battle for economical control over the earth, is not in the best interests of mankind. It is this group which, like the founding the fathers, will educate the people of their society and explain to them the need for the unification of people to pursue a “revolutionary change” which will allow for the betterment of all mankind. It is a unification that we must strive to realize cannot be a unity-of-religion, a unity-of-nation, a unity-of-race, a unity-of-politics, etc. because by recognizing such unities it only provokes a further fragmentation of all society who don’t fit into this category of people’s. Rather, we must recognize a unity-in-diversity of all peoples throughout the world. To become one through the creation of a newly founded society. It is this type of society in which we must strive to create to solve the fundamental problems that exist on earth as a result of the powers that be who prevent the natural evolutionary changes from taking place by oppressing the peoples of the earth as an effort to prolong this “ongoing status quo” which currently exists only to maintain the benefit of their exploitation, oppression, and monopolistic efforts over all the markets & people of the world at the benefit of the few and the cost of the many! We have reached a point in time where it has come down to a race. It is the race of the oligarchist to obtain absolute power through competition, war, and oppression against a race to educate the people of our society that we have reached a point in time that we are more than ready for the founding of a new society. One which will allow a truly democratic system to promote cooperation, peace, liberty, justice, and happiness for all individuals all over the planet. The World Constitution, in existence since 1947, is a document which will allow us to create the United Federation of Earth, to eliminate war, hunger, and poverty all over the world. This is the solution to our problems on a global scale. A solution will allow our society to once again flourish like it never has before. This is the “revolutionary change” that we must take to solve our fundamental problems on earth. I encourage you all to look into this, study it, and make your own realizations of the concepts and understandings that I have reached in the best interests of all mankind.
Peace and Prosperity to All,
Mike DeVries
