Merry Christmas … Or Happy Holidays?

pc christmas

Our founding editor will be sending out FITS’ annual Christmas … err, Season’s … err, holiday greetings tomorrow (to all of you who are signed up for our email list, anyway) and obviously we’re a bit confused as to what the proper protocol is for wishing people a “Merry” or “Happy” whatever it is they’re celebrating – or not celebrating.

Seriously, with so much political correctness (and so little holiday cheer) these days, it’s gotten tricky to “rock a holiday rhyme.’

Obviously government decided a long time ago to put the kibosh on Christmas – as have many retail outlets – but should we follow suit?

Or for that matter, should the lovely and talented Mande (who kicks it Old School … err, Old Testament)?

We’re not sure.

Maybe we just throw it the towel completely, like these people …

happy festive season

Festive season?

Sheesh.

Sic Willie is a Lutheran (formerly a Presbyterian), yet with the notable exception of a recently acquired familiarity with the concept of transubstantiation, his grasp of the theological peculiarities and denominational differences associated with his evolving Protestant faith is understandably quite limited.

Still, does that mean that he should be prohibited from administering the holiday greeting that goes with his current religious affiliation?

Hmmm … What Would Maulana Karenga Do?

We wonder …

Oh well, aside from its annual postscript reminder to “drink your Ovaltine,” guess you’ll just have to sign up to find out …

What do you say?
