huh

U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham (RINO-S.C.) wants an investigation of the shady, taxpayer-funded payoff made by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada) to secure the vote of U.S. Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Nebraska) on President Barack Obama’s socialized medicine proposal.

We agree with him on that much, too.

Taxpayers are getting ripped off like never before in D.C., and the fact that we’re supposed to take it a little further up the yin-yang in order to secure passage of the biggest anal probe government has ever shoved up the nation’s backside is every bit as revolting as the metaphor we just chose to illustrate it.

Like the $300 million payoff Reid made to win the vote of U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, the Nelson payoff (which guarantees a never-ending stream of Medicaid payments to the state of Nebraska) is nothing but a taxpayer-funded bribe.

Having said that, we found Graham’s choice of a “leader” for this investigation – S.C. Attorney General Henry McMaster – downright amusing.

In fact, we didn’t believe it at first.  We thought somebody was pulling our leg …

But no. It’s for realsies.

Wait … is Miss Lindsey serious? Henry McMaster?

Now we know that Richard Quinn – the Confederacy-loving consultant who pulls both politicians’ strings – is dying for some media exposure for McMaster, his 2010 gubernatorial candidate.

But aside from the glaring jurisdictional inadequacies, is this the sort of thing McMaster is really up for?

Come to think of it, is tying his shoes the sort of thing McMaster is up for?

Let’s review the record, shall we?

The last time this thick-accented (and thicker-skulled) bumpkin decided to pander on the national stage, he got his rear end thoroughly spanked by Craigslist, a defeat that rivals his botched handling of a high-profile sex case back in 2007 in terms of PR embarrassment.

More recently, McMaster dodged his official duties here at home by passing not once, but twice on a legitimate investigation of S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford’s taxpayer funded leg-running – for the sole reason that doing his job might have imperiled his gubernatorial ambitions.

And this is the guy Graham wants to elevate to the national stage?

Please … Henry McMaster is as corrupt and incompetent a politician as you’re ever going to find, and Graham should have his head examined for suggesting that such an ethically-challenged boob take over this investigation.

Seriously, the only thing Henry McMaster is (or will ever be) competent to investigate is where the next mint julep at his “whites only” country club is coming from …

Did you really just write the following?

“But aside from the glaring jurisdictional inadequacies, is this the sort of thing McMaster is really up for?

“Come to think of it, is tying his shoes the sort of thing McMaster is up for? …

“Please … Henry McMaster is as corrupt and incompetent a politician as you’re ever going to find, and Graham should have his head examined for suggesting that such an ethically-challenged boob take over this investigation.”

Hasn’t everyone figured out that the Nelson “bribe” (and possibly the Landrieu “bribe” too) is going to be struck down as unconstitutional? Nelson wasn’t bribed, he was just too coward to vote the way he wanted. Once the deal is struck down, he goes back to his state and says “Sorry, I tried the best I could.”

The Democrats always beat the Republicans.

The Republicans tend to play by the rules.

The Democrats aren’t constrained by rules.

It’s all about POWER and CONTROL for the Democrats.

I would have loved to hear our AG actually read that memo (which he so obviously didn’t write) out loud, just so we could get a few “yessuhs” and “Senatuhs” thrown in for comedic effect.

As always, Mr. Smith II takes away more from this fake news site than he adds.

I want Lindsey to do about 20 town hall meetings across our state in 2010.

Although I doubt he has the courage….

Hey doo doo head – the last time I checked, the South Carolina Attorney General represents the State of South Carolina in legal matters. If anybody is going to sue the feds for a violation of our state’s rights, it would be…wait for it…here it comes…almost there…yep, the SC Attorney General! Both Senators DeMint and Graham sent a letter to AG McMaster asking him to investigate the constitutionality of the Nebraska deal in the health care bill and consider suing the federal government.

View their letter here: http://www.mattlewis.org/?p=2055

No grand conspiracy here. No puppet master pulling any strings. Just two Senators rightly asking one of SC’s constitutional officers to do his job. Good for them all! I hope we can torpedo this socialist bill because of Harry Reid’s tactical blunder.

Merry Christmas to all!

And the REAL irony here is . . . wait for it . . .

CORPORATE WELFARE QUEEN DEALMAKER LINDSEY GRAHAM LEADING THE CHARGE AGAINST BACKROOM DEAL MAKING BY OTHER CROOKED POLITICIANS!

And how many reporters or commentators have realized this yet? Yet more proof that we live in “Bizarro World.”
