Clyburn Accidentally Sends SC Pork To California

jim clyburn misplaced pork

Call it a case of misplaced bacon … or the pork that got away.

According to South Carolina Republicans, U.S. Poverty Pimp … err, Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.) accidentally shipped a $100,000 earmark intended for Jamestown, S.C. to Jamestown, California.  No word yet on what caused the mix-up – i.e. whether Clyburn was intentionally trying to hook up another state or whether he was just exhausted (as has been known to happen) from wielding such a legendary pimp hand

Anyway, this comedy of taxpayer-funded errors got underway when South Carolina’s Jamestown (population: 97) requested $50,000 for a new library. Of course since there’s so much extra money laying around in D.C. these days, Clyburn decided the town should have $100,000.

Somehow, though, that money got appropriated for California’s Jamestown (population 3,000) – which is located smack dab in the middle of one of the most Republican regions of the Golden State.

“There are so many things wrong with this story it’s hard to know where to begin, but it’s crystal clear that not only are the Democrats in Congress robbing from future generations by spending money we don’t have, but they are flat out incompetent to boot,” South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Karen Floyd said. “Democrats are spending with reckless abandon, they are not even reading the laws that they pass, and they are apparently not even listening to those who request the earmarks, since what was allocated was double the original request.”

What’s even “wronger?” Clyburn will no doubt spend another $100,000 to clean up his mistake …

The people of his district will most likely never know. Doubtful that they follow what Clyburn does -vs- what he says he does….Either way, give the schmuck a towel, he has egg on his face….Let your voice be heard in 2010…throw these bums out…

Well, besides using the situation for a nice political ha-ha moment, are the GOP folk in California who already have a library going to decline the appropriation and stick with their political values?
Please keep us abreast of THAT, won’t you FITS?

It’s all a plot about towns having the same name and Clyburn’s love of naming thing after himself.

I predict Jamestown, SC will become James E. Clyburn Town, SC.

FITS-the problem with James Clyburn is not just his level of incompetency but his arrogance. Let me remind your readers that earlier this year the Congressman (and I use that term loosely) decided to hold his town hall meetings outside of his district, rather than face the voters and taxpayers who he is suppose to represent. The few that he did hold, he appeared to act as if he would rather be anywhere but at these town hall meetings.

I have followed Jim Clyburn for years and he will tell you that being your representative is, to a certain extent, about character. Congressman, let me tell you without any hesitation, it is all about character. Now this recent mistake begs the question, why would the third most powerful representative in Congress do something so foolish? If you can answer that my fellow South Carolinians you are smarter than me. Now the Congressman or his staff will respond that it was a simple mistake and that representing this district is not easy.

Congressman Clyburn, America is not easy, goverment is not easy, leadership is not easy. You have to want it bad! For years, Jim Clyburn has devoted a tremendous amount of time, energy and effort into blaming the ills and problems facing our district and state on anybody that he could. I assumed that the reason the Congressman spent so much time on assigning blame was that he did not get it; well I have to admit that I was wrong. Clyburn’s problem is not that he does not get it; it is that he cannot sell it!

We have serious problems facing our district, our state and our country, right now. We need serious people to solve them. And whatever your particular problem is, I promise you, Congressman James E. Clyburn is not the least bit interested in solving it. He is interested in two things and only two things: making you afraid and telling you who’s to blame. Well Congressman, we are facing serious problems and we need serious people to stand up and represent the people that sent you to Washington; not the national Democrat party or the temporary occupant of either the White House or Speaker’s position!

Mr. Clyburn, you owe an explanation to the people of your district and this state for your actions. Though I doubt it will occur, let us see if he has the character to stand up and explain himself to us. And Congressman if you need some help finding your district allow me to suggest a wonderful site on the internet call Google Earth, since you have problems remembering that your district does not include Greenville…Tom Grimes Chairman SC6 Congressional District Republican Party

I would like to suggest a different…. more cynical tact on all this.

Jim sat in a safe SC District for some time…. biding his time and building up Seniority with no risk because no one in the SC GOP cared to disrupt him.

Along came Hilary and the fait accompli that was supposed to be her 08 campaign.

The accompli involved the whole and complete support she was to enjoy with the State of South Carolina
    and it’s many Afro-American residents.

This particular support was due to the oft repeated conceit or bull shit depending on what your schooling was …”that Bill Clinton was the first Black President”
and thus all South Carolina Blacks should line up and vote for her.

Only one problem …..Bill Clinton was the first Black Pimp not someone who helped Afro-Americans.

Now when Don, Carol and little “Dickie” began to tell every Black voter in the State that they had to vote against this second Presidential Black nominee …folks……..specifically Jim….. said why.

But “she is the First Black President’s spurned wife who was promised the White House if she SWALLOWED the scandal they said”…
Jim kind of shrugged and asked himself the question of why he spent so much time following around white people who were so full of shit.

. So Dickie and the Fowl Squad brought out the Big Chicago revolver, Mr. Mint Milano himself( Creamy crusty on the outside…dark milk chocolate with a heavy hint of dollar bill green on the inside)….Mr. Jesse Jackson.

It did not go well……think American Gangster.

And so Obama won South Carolina because Michelle showed all the Beauty Shop sisters….. in every town in SC… that her arms were dark enough and that she was not marrying Barry to lighten up. Michelle was Black.

In Columbia on primary election night Bill bellowed that Barry was not qualified ….that everyone would regret this….Oh if we had only known…….and that after all he had done for “you people” this is what I get.

But with that critical win Clyburn and Clyburn crucial support of Obama in the State……was not only acknowledged but multiplied by chances of being the Whip.

Jim bet right and was right to back Barry. So he gets to make as much hay as he can think up for as long as he stays on the raft. First move …take care of your daughter…not evil just typical of Pols.

Don’t hate the player hate the game. A typo on an earmark will be forgotten …they did not spell check the Healthcare Bill either.

They do not care how they steal…because they do not see it as stealing they see it as the entitlement of winning the election.

Without Term Limits these characters will always be present and frankly in the Black Caucus he is one of the more saner heads.

the problem isn’t just that he is a black man, it’s that he is an idiot and a black man. america always gives the pass to a black man and his so called supporters revel in the fact that a black man has that level of governmental power whether he uses it as he should or not. same old way democrat’s have been doing business for as long as i can remember

Ummm…sorry….what are the details here? “According to South Carolina Republicans…” is how this story starts so there goes any credibility to start with. Was this a typo in the bill? What is exactly is the connection to Clyburn? This is really a nothing story without a lot more facts. Just an excuse to solicit rants and web site traffic. See it worked!
