Mulvaney Kicks Off “Send Spratt Home” Drive

Sick of a radical socialist agenda (one that our country can’t afford) getting shoved down your throats by the powers that be in Washington, D.C.?

Feel powerless to do anything about it?

You shouldn’t.

South Carolina residents now have their first real opportunity to fight back via the Congressional campaign of conservative S.C. Senator Mick Mulvaney, who is running against fourteen-term incumbent U.S. Rep. John Spratt (D-SC).

Mulvaney is encouraging South Carolinians to take a stand against one of the liberal leaders of this leftward march by joining the “Send Spratt Home” movement.

According to a recent voting analysis published by the Washington Post, Spratt has voted with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the democratic leadership in Congress 97.8% of the time during the 111th Congress.

That tally includes key votes in favor of President Barack Obama’s $787 billion bureaucratic bailout,  a “cap and trade” energy tax increase and most recently, Obama’s socialized medicine plan.

(See the Congressional record of Spratt’s votes in favor of those items by clicking here, here and here).

On top of that, Spratt is leading the fight to raise the U.S. debt limit to a ridiculous $14 trillion.

“John Spratt has served as our Congressman now for 27 years,” Mulvaney says. “In that time, he’s gone from being an independent-thinking moderate to voting with Nancy Pelosi and Congressional liberals 97.8% of the time.”

Mulvaney’s “Send Spratt Home” page includes a link to a money bomb where people can make a contribution to his campaign and a petition page that lets voters select from one of several messages to the Congressman.

There’s also space for including your own message, too.

Our founding editor has never – not once – donated to a political candidate. Never. Ever. Never ever. It goes against every fiber of his being.

Hell, he’s only voted once – way back in 1992.

Having said that, we’re seriously considering sending Mulvaney a contribution.  In fact, we’re seriously considering sending contributions to any candidates running against socialist lawmakers (of either major party).

It’s time to take the country back, yo, and that starts with putting people with a proven voting fiscally conservative voting record (like Mulvaney) in office.

UDPATE: It’s on … the lovely Dianne Gallagher of CN2 is Tweeting that Spratt has filed his paperwork to run in 2010.

John Spratt or Mick Mulvaney?

Just one question, what are we going to do with all these out of socialist democraps?? Personally I don’t want to provide aid and comfort to the traitors that they are! Do we have enough tall trees and short rope in SC for all of them?…

Lets send Mulvaney home. Back to Yankee land. IRT raising the debt limit, exactly which obligations that the government has do you think it should default on? What are the legalities of default?

Send Mulvaney back home. Unfortunately Christmas did not come for Mulvaney this year, because “Big, Bad, Ol’” Congressman Spratt (SC saving grace) is running for reelection (which was never in question to the dismay of the NRCC and other disllusioned people.) Instead of starting a “Send Spratt” home drive, he should call his predecessor Mr. Norman and get some ideas on his impeding fate, such as preparing himself for the call near the end of this coming July, when the NRCC will be cut their attachment and leave him hanging out to dry like they did Mr. Norman. Mulvaney barely won his State Senate race a little over a year ago. People may not be happy with the inaction of Congress this year, but Spratt makes things happen for the 5th District and SC as a whole. Without him, we would be stuck with no assistance from fine individuals such as our junior Senator Demint who admits he doesnt represent his electrate. Maybe Mulvaney needs to stop drinking the “kool-aid” and stick to the restaurant business

Mulvaney and Spratt are both from Charlotte…which one should we send home again?

And Mulvaney won by 8 points in the face of the Obama-nation. In what world is that “barely” won?

    Good fact-checking though. Reliable work.

Those are some insightful comments. If there’s one thing that matters when picking a Congressman, it’s not integrity, intelligence, or ability to represent his constituents. No, the main thing that matters is that he’s originally from South Carolina. Because that really makes a difference.

Mulvaney was born in Alexandra, VA. Is that a suburb of Charlotte?

There are many, many people that do not feel represented by Spratt. Indeed, many, many of us are not represented by Spratt. Many, many of us are becoming motivated to no longer be content as the quiet conservatives. We are angry. We want nothing more than to get rid of any official who is supportive of the anti-American, socialist agenda. Be warned Mr. Spratt and all your socialist friends… we’re going to vote you out!

@CNSYD He went to high school in Charlotte. Regardless of where he was born, he’s from the Charlotte area.

@wakethehellup Mick has a history of winning and I won’t surprise me if he beats Spratt. He has a lot of ties in the area and will be able to pull in a good bit of money. Also, fyi he is in the development business, not the restaurant business.

Crosby Stills Nash Yong & Dummbass:

OK, so Mulvaney goes back to alexandria, and Spratt goes back to charlotte (and Jim Rex can go back to Toledo for that matter).

Now that we have solved all of our state’s problems by deporting those carpetbaggers, who would you like to see represent us?

If we could get rid of both Spratt and Rex, I would be willing to part with Mick as well (sorry Mick). I think it would be a pretty fair trade!

Mulvaney is/was in the development business. He is now in the Mexican Restaurant business. I think he wants to recover the money he and other developers paid to the illegal workers they attracted here. Want to know more about Mulvaney and his shady dealings, click on the website below. Hopefully, it will open your eyes – if they were not already open.

Yes, lets kick out the “carpet baggers”. Because ya know, SC has done so well with its home grown retards running the state.

@Strawbridge I looked at that anonymous blog and it looks like someone is bitter. A lot of the actions listed on that blog are simple free market activities. IE buy property, improve it and sell it. The author conveniently neglects to mention any improvements done on the projects and assumes it’s all profit. There is also an article about Mulvaney Homes which was not Mick’s company. I would be skeptical of any blog that fails to put their name with their works and article posts are right before an election.

dusty, you may want these carpetbaggers riding in on their white horses stealing money and screwing the women like Sanfraud and his buds but I don’t. If they are so smart, tell me what they did where they came from? You saw how welcome Ryberg was when he ran for statewide office.

Happy Hannukah, if this state has not produced NATIVE sons and/or daughters with the ability to govern then perhaps we ought to just give it back to the Indians. Sorry, but I refuse to believe that all the outsiders are smarter than we are ourselves. We are invested in this state. They are just interlopers.

There is only ONE issue in Sumter County, and that is saving the only substantial asset the County has, which is Shaw Air Force Base. No base, no jobs (our unemployment rate is already 14 percent), no business tax revenue, no county services = total ruin.
National agendas, Nancy Pelosi, etc don’t affect Sumter enough to matter which is why only desperate negative campaigning can succeed.
Spratt has vital committee memberships and personal power that benefit Sumter, so we re-elect him and I’ll be voting for him. No potential opposition candidate can DO anything FOR Sumter County by comparison.
