Easily the most accessible aspect of Obama’s tenure, Michelle has embraced the role of figurehead and has in the process carved a niche comfortably recessed from the fray of her husband’s politics.
Even Republican women love her (67% of them, anyway).
Tough crowd, too.
But the female demographic most starstruck ought not to be Republicans but rather black women.
Until now, black women have gotten the shaft with regard to role models. Forever portrayed as combative, unambitious, and caustically cavalier, black women have a serious PR problem. The “Claire Huxtable effect” can only last so long, you know?
Along comes Michelle Obama, favorably reppin’ black women and effectively rebooting black culture.
In fact it is Michelle, not Barack, looks to be the Obama who will patch the racial divide – first from within the black community, and then beyond it.

Mande Wilkes,I am so impress with Michelle Obama. I think she has done a great job as First Lady. With all the B.S. she has put up with from certain people, she has continue to show class, grace, and dignity. Here’s to you Mrs. Obama, keep on keeping on. I think you are GREAT. People do not know the real Michelle, the media has protected her past just as it has done for Barack’s. Her almost tripled salary for a part time consultantship at the Univ. of Illinois hospital, for which she had zero experience, to nearly $300,000 AFTER Obama became Senator and got million$ for “improvements” to the hospital, is embezzlement. Embezzlement. She encouraged patient dumping. She was also disbarred via disciplinary code action in the state of Illinois and is no longer allowed to practice law. She was court-ordered to relinquish her law license in lieu of exposure of her wrongdoings publicly; she chose to have her law license pulled instead of publicizing her malpractice.

Proverbs 19:10 (NIV): “It is not fitting for a fool to live in luxury – how much worse for a slave to rule over princes!”
Also Proverbs 30:22 (NIV) which says that the earth cannot bear up under “a servant who becomes king.”
And Ecclesiastes 5:2-3 (KJV) advises: “let thy words be few…a fool’s voice is known by multitude of words.”
Although Obama is not descended from slaves, he may feel that he’s destined to become a black-slavery avenger.
