We’ve been called a lot of stupid things by our copycat antagonists in the “new” media over the years, but “Ol’ FITSy” has to be the stupidest.
Seriously …”Ol’ FITSy?”
Since when did “cutting edge” new media outlets resort to nicknames understandable only to grumpy old men whose testicles were dragging the floor?
Eh? Eh? Turn your Miracle Ear up if you can’t hear us, dude …
Anyway, have been dubbed as such by those crazy old codgers over at Wolfe “Reports,” we felt compelled to respond … not only to the geriatric taunting but to some of the senile nonsense being spewed by these fact-challenged status quo propagandists.
First, some background. It appears that “Ol’ Wolfey” – author of Wolfe “Reports” – was upset that FITS gave some play to a story that first broke Monday on WIS TV 10 (NBC – Columbia). In that story, Kershaw County (S.C.) Superintendent Frank Morgan tried to defend the fact that his school district awarded $850,000 in taxpayer-funded raises this year – the majority of them going to “administrative” employees (i.e. bureaucrats, not teachers).
The average bureaucratic salary increase? Almost $10,000 a year … another example of how government employees in South Carolina aren’t hurting during this recession.
Anyway, always on the lookout for an opportunity to “gum” the providers of our worst-in-the-nation education system, “Ol’ Wolfey” quickly ditched his dentures and went to work on Morgan’s, um, behalf.
From Wolfe “Reports:”
… (Morgan) must have had a screw loose to come to a state that has abandoned public education since integration, and has a very small but very vocal crowd that is pumped up by out-of-state cash to destroy public education forever. At least in Virginia, there is a commitment to making sure that children, no matter their financial background or family relations, get a good education.
Wait a minute … we live in a state that has “abandoned public education?”
Really?
The last time we checked, South Carolina’s public education system was currently humming along at its highest funding level ever … despite its ongoing and systemic failure to educate our children.
That doesn’t sound like abandonment to us … but it does sound like a bad investment.
And speaking of getting nothing for your money, we’d be remiss if we didn’t point out that Wolfe’s No. 1 sugar daddy, J. Warren Tompkins, has quite a vested financial interest in preserving his little corner of our state’s failed status quo – which may have something to do with the vitriol being spewed at us.
Oh well … if Tompkins and Harrell – another status quo defender – are indeed paying for “Ol’ Wolfey’s” vitriol (as has been alleged), it looks like yet another bad investment.
Unless his audience is comprised of a bunch of Depends-wearing fogies looking to “Fixodent and forget it …”
UPDATE: So, now that you know the cheesiest nickname we’ve ever been given … what’s our favorite third party moniker? Well, that would have to be the name bestowed upon us by our “friends (w/ benefits)” over at Waldo Lydecker’s (Homoerotic) Journal. Their name for Sic Willie? “Anaconda.” How a propos.

Typical garbage from “Wolfe Distorts”. He only wishes he were the Palmetto State’s most innovative and influential “new media” source.
Hey Ol’ Wolfey, live your life!

Dude – in SC to be called Ol anything in a sign of respect as in “Ol Strom”
By Millage December 16, 2009 at 9:20 am
Wolfe is just mad that his attempt to be a “real” journalist in Columbia failed, then his nameless blog was exposed. He is like all the other pay-to-play politicos in SC, but tries to pretend otherwise.

Will: Why do you give Wolfe publicity? No one has ever heard of the dude. He’s a nobody, so don’t make him a somebody.

The Good Sic giveth, the Good Sic taketh away.
JK … we are giving Wes publicity for no other reason than the whole thing amuses us greatly.

I really, really wish he would go back to Alabama so he could fellate his fellow Bammers about the one good thing he has in his life.

Speaking of Warren Tompkins, does anybody know if he is still Queen Jean’s lobbyist? Or have John Land, Brad Hutto and Todd Rutherford just taken over for Tompkins.

Girth-
First of all, regarding your screen name, you’re correct. And you’re welcome.
Second of all, “Ol’ Knocky” (like “Ol’ Ball Coach” for Steve Spurrier) is Sen. Knotts official nickname.
We did not give it to him.
It’s a sexagenarian thing. We wouldn’t understand.

I contacted Mr. Morgan (ole Sup)last night after the FITS article was published. The “ole Sup” lectured me about the only way to keep good “administrators” was to pay them (overpay?) well. I pointed out that in the current job market the “administrators” were glad to have a job, in effect they did not have any place to go.The “ole Sup” is attempting to establish a graft pardner with the local Chamber of Commerce. That organiztion is the unofficial (official) local government in “ole Kershaw”
The “ole sup’s” staff is so top heavy with friends and family of “ole Kershaw” power brokers that it has toppled. Samuel Grompers, when asked by Henry Ford what he wanted replied, “More, More, More”.

Dear Ol’fits’y,
SC abandoned public education when it allowed the shameful “minimally adequate” standard. The SC Legislature can put SC on the road to Public Education success with a simple bill. It would only take a few words.
“Be It Resolved: Effective immediately every child in SC has the right to a free and appropriate “superior” education.”
sic(k) fits’y can still use “minimally adequate” to qualify his sources of information. You see, no one expects excellence from sic(k) fits’y.
A great companion bill would be a pledge by all Legislators to stop taking voucher scam money from Howie and his Voucher Clowns.
And we all know that without voucher scam money, sic(k) willie’s little porn blog would be off line in a New York minute.

Thanks for taking time out of your fake “they’re out to get me” conspiracies to slap fight the real enemy. You don’t post enough anonymous comments about how much of an hero you are.
