For Spratt “Town Hall,” Dial 1-900-Sell-Out

yell

U.S Rep. John Spratt’s office went to great lengths earlier this year to shield the fourteen-term Congressman from growing voter angst over the increasingly leftward bent this nation is taking.

Not to mention the increasingly leftward bent Spratt is taking …

In case you forgot, here’s a refresher on Spratt’s definition of a “Town Hall” meeting. And here are a pair of clips to show you just how out of touch – and “out of it” – Spratt was at those two meetings (click here and here).

The trepidation on the part of Spratt’s staffers is not surprising.  After all, pick your liberal agenda item and Spratt has backed it.

President Barack Obama’s “bureaucratic bailout?” Yup.

The massive new energy tax known as “Cap and Trade?” Yup.

Obama’s socialized medicine? Yup.

He’s also currently leading the fight to expand the nation’s debt limit to pay for all of this new spending.

Anyway, needless to say Spratt’s office is once again doing everything it can to keep the public indignation at bay … holding its latest “town hall meeting” on the telephone.

Wait … on the telephone?

From Spratt’s office:

U.S. Rep. John Spratt (D-SC) will hold a telephone town hall on health care reform for the citizens of Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, and Marlboro counties.

The telephone town hall will start at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 15, and last approximately one hour. During the session, constituents will have the opportunity to ask questions, make comments, or talk about their experience with the health care system.

“I’ve held health care town halls in Rock Hill and Sumter, and now I’d like to hear from people in the Pee Dee,” said Spratt.

Citizens of Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, and Marlboro counties who would like to participate in the town hall should call Spratt’s office in Darlington or Washington between now and 2:00 p.m. on December 14 and leave their phone number. The Darlington office number is 843-393-3998. The Washington office number is 202-225-5501.

Wait … now he’d like to hear from people in the Pee Dee?

After he’s already cast all of these socialist votes?

Of course, it’s not like their views would have mattered. Spratt isn’t listening to his constituents these days – even when they do have the opportunity to make their opinions known.

After all, voters at Spratt’s Town Hall meetings in Rock Hill and Sumter told him in no uncertain terms that they opposed President Barack Obama’s socialized medicine proposal – and yet he voted for it anyway.

The theory in Washington is that Spratt has no choice in the matter- either he tows the Socialist Party line or Speaker Nancy Pelosi will take away his position as Chairman of the Budget Committee.  That’s a position Spratt is counting on to help him steer just enough government pork to South Carolina in order to hang onto his seat.

Frankly, that’s pathetic.

And voters who participate in Spratt’s “town hall” Tuesday night should tell him that …

wow…first he checked ID’s at Sumter and Rock Hill. Still got his lunch handed to him.

Now he is pre-screening participants for his teleconference. Nothing like picking your audience in order to get the input you want.

Chances of the local GOP/Mulvaney supporters getting their say? Not too good.

What you want to bet that Spratt’s munchkins will ask for callers names then these will be compared to people known to have favored Spratt in the past? Let’s say 3 minutes is allowed per caller. That is 20 callers in the hour he is blessing us with. Then if he only has 11 callers that sound favorable on the phone, he can say a majority support him. Any more than 11 then he can say an overwhelming majority support him. It’s a bull$hit setup, count on it. You can bet there won’t be any callers allowed to be heard that tell him to stuff his liberal agenda up his fat a$$…. And you are right, the pork will flow into the district in the coming year. Most will go to city and county governments, to the mayors, judges, law enforcement people and so forth that will quietly work for him. Few jobs will be created and those that are will be in already overstaffed government entities.

Pelosi has her hand so far up Spratt’s ass that when he licks something it leaves Nancy’s fingerprint.

Spratt is nothing more than a meat puppet for Obama and Pelosi. He only does what their controlling hands squeezes him to do.

Spratt is a disgrace to politicians everywhere because of how he let’s himself be controlled and by totally ignoring those that he is supposed to be representing.
He should be doing what his constituents tell him to do not what Dictators Obama and Pelosi tell him to do. Spratt is betraying everything this country represents with total and absolute disregard to the Constitution and Bill of Rights that his job requires him to defend.

You forget to mention that, if you knew ALL the groundrules for the town hall, 2/3rds of the Tea Baggers who spoke against Spratt or HealthCare LIED about their position so they could get to the mike.
    Yeah, real honorable bunch there.

The sad thing is, John, who I know very well, was once a conservative old school southern Democrat. He gradually got more liberal over the years but it seemed to really have accelerated when Pelosi became the leader. Kind of reverse of the old saying about a bad apple spoiling the barrel. Put a good apple in with some bad apples and it gets spoiled eventually. I can’t forgive him, even if Pelosi is threatening to take away his chairman post. Either he is now agreeing with the liberals, or he doesn’t have the guts to go against them and in either case, he has lost my support.
