La Socialista Forgot Something
We’re pretty sure that Warren Bolton, editorial writer at La Socialista (a.k.a The State newspaper) has a bit of a “bro-mance” going on with left-leaning Columbia, S.C. mayoral candidate Steve Morrison.
Or a “bro-mance” of ideas, anyway.
After all, in administering near-daily journalistic HJ’s to Morrison, Bolton seems to be neglecting the attorney’s connections to an industry that La Socialista loves to hate – payday lending.
Specifically, Bolton (who is known as South Carolina’s preeminent anti-payday crusader) has yet to mention in one of his fawning columns that Morrison has served as lead counsel for Advance America, which ironically is the company La Socialista hit up in a recent journalistic blackmail scam.
In another recent editorial, Bolton and his mates gave Morrison a HJ for the “corridor of shame” law suit … but declined to mention that his law firm was hitting the state up for legal fees.
Seriously, people, you don’t think a massive law firm like Nelson Mullins takes a case like that for free, do you?
Pro bono doesn’t mean “free,” people. It means “for the good.” Gratis means free.
Anyway, why anyone would want to be Mayor of Columbia – a.k.a. the “Face of the Recession” – is beyond us … we just think it’s funny how La Socialista (namely Bolton) is bending its positions to accommodate the most liberal candidate in this race.
