How SC Lawmakers Celebrate Christmas

We’re not big on social graces, people, but we do know what the inside of a Florence County, S.C. Christmas party looks like.

But surely our sources are wrong … surely that’s not S.C. Rep. Phillip Lowe getting down at one of these exclusive soirees, is it?

If so, somebody cue the karaoke version of “Friends in Low Places …” for the partygoers, of course.

Somebody should also probably cue Senate staffer Mike Shealy, who rumor has it carries Sen. Hugh Leatherman’s step-stool around with him just in case the powerful Senate Finance Chairman sees something he wants that’s out of his reach.

Which, as it happens, is most things.

“Awwwwww, Shealy … times ta gets ma stoool …”
