public enemy

We’re proud to say that we have several Public Enemy tracks in our iPod.  We’re also huge fans of the “Flavor of Love,” the reality TV show featuring one of the groundbreaking rap group’s stars.

And like PE, “It Takes A Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back.”

Apparently, the same cannot be said of the Washington Post, which ran an article last week that included one of the most glaring pop culture errors we’ve ever seen.

From the paper’s correction:

A Nov. 26 article in the District edition of Local Living incorrectly said a Public Enemy song declared 9/11 a joke. The song refers to 911, the emergency phone number.

So, knowing the lyrics to a 19-year-old rap song makes one hip?

You gonna hum a few bars to “Just a Friend” by Biz Markie next?

“So get up, get, get get down,
FITSnooze is a joke in yo town”

There – I made the first comment about you, too.

I would be sooo embarrassed employing someone that dumb….That must be the same person that they had to change the slogan 9-11 to 9-1-1 for, because they could not find the number 11 on their phone
