Verboten!

So what’s the deal with the suddenly ubiquitous Jenny Sanford’s suddenly verboten website?

We tried to visit the new, official site of South Carolina’s First Lady Monday evening (and again on Tuesday morning), but we were greeted instead by a menacing “Forbidden” message telling us that we didn’t have permission to access it.

Figuring we must have said or done something to piss off the First Lady, we attempted to access the site via one our many alternate IP addresses (like the true stalkers we are).

Alas … verboten!

Next we tried the Crackberry internet … Verboten.

iPod internet? Verboten.

The pirated Wi-Fi from our neighbors? Verborten.

We even called several of our buds in different parts of South Carolina (and beyond) to see if they could access the site.

All of them came back with the same reply …

Verboten.”

So what gives?  Has Jenny’s husband, S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford, been spamming the site or something?

The address is www.JennySanford.com, in case you want to give it a try.

Our guess?

Verboten!

Mrs. Sanford, who was the subject of a fawning New York Times exclusive over the Thanksgiving holidays, is reportedly going to be at the Governor’s Mansion on December 3 for the first time since she staged a public move out of the residence back in August.

How awkward!

UPDATE: As of 11:30 a.m., the First Lady’s site is back up and running.  Hmmm … was she hacked?  We’ll let you know what we find out …

How many people do you think will line up to shake her hand and say hello to her at the open to the public reception at the Governor’s Mansion this Thursday afternoon, December 3? I personally think it is mighty brave of her to show up.

This girl can do no wrong.

Her husband is gone. Dead. Crazy. Broke. Can’t provide. Etc. Etc.

She is not an heiress to anything. Her family was well off — not Rockefeller, not Kennedy. Heiress is convenient liberal media condescension.

She needs to make coin to put her kids through school, and she has to take advantage of the (crap) cards she has been dealt. Also, it would seem she trademarked her name as others were profiting from it.

Take a deep breath everyone. She is a good person, her husband is a doooooche.

Good for you, Ole Yeller. I agree. I’m going by Thursday and take her a pound cake – for her and the boys – not him.

I agree Ole Yeller – she really is a good person – I hope it all goes good for her and the boys – and people should stop by and support her – I hope she succeeds in anything she decides to do – poor kids looked very unhappy at the tree lighting – felt sorry for them – hope they’ll all be Ok – don’t care one bit about Mark – he has caused so much unhappiness for so many people – SC included -

“She needs to make coin to put her kids through school,” oh please! A well known method for “well off family” to spread the wealth with no gift tax; her parents pay the private school tuiition directly to the school; the Sullivans probably do it for all their grandchildren.

You don’t need to be an heiress to collect plenty of K-1s every January!

Tamu, Guv Sandbag is a doooche, and I would suspect you are too. Who cares who pays what tuition, she can still do it for the coin. Or she can do it to show other people what grace is. I know I have little and you likely none. I admire the broad, and in truth she has aged well.

You would be amazed at all the “grandparents” who pay the tuition for the “well-off” Columbianans at Heathwood Hall and Hammond here in Columbia. You are so right–it is a smart tax move for the wealthy. Then the kids get to make a generous donation to the building fund. Ah, life is sweet for old money!

Sorry, don’t see the Grace. And why can we write to her at Richland Street? She does not live there. She should not be at any event as the First Lady. She left that role and adddress. I can not believe that the husband is still in office-the selfish pig that he is-but I have no sympathy for her. Am sorry he cheated and acted like a jerk, but she knew what he was and helped make him who he is. Part of the responsibility is hers.
