The Real ACC Championship?

carolina georgia

Never mind the fact that Clemson has utterly and completely dominated the “Rivalry In Name Only” that exists in the Palmetto State between its  Tigers and the University of South Carolina Gamecocks – particular in recent years.

And never mind that USC is suffering through its second mediocre century on the gridiron.  Yeah, you read that right … century (not season).

All it takes is one win over the hated Taters … err, Tigers to get South Carolina fans talking trash like a bunch of arrogant redneck Georgia fans – who by the way are the stupidest, smelliest, drunkest, most ignorant, most obnoxious football fans anywhere.  Ever.

Oh, and when you couple the Bulldogs “upset” win over No. 7 Georgia Tech last weekend with USC’s win over Clemson (the Gamecocks first in three years and third in thirteen years) and you’ve got the makings of a real Smack Bowl!

SEC-style!

acc champs

As much as we hate to admit it, though, at least Georgia has a leg to stand on when it comes to talking trash.

They own their ACC rivals, boasting a 60-39-5 record in the Georgia Tech series, which is known on that side of the Savannah River as “Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate.”

That’s approximately the same clip at which Clemson has owned Carolina (65-38-4).

A charter member of the SEC, Georgia also has six ten-win seasons in the current decade. South Carolina? Yeah … the Gamecocks are the Washington Nationals of the SEC, an expansion also-ran that has one ten-win season in the history of the program.

Still, though, last Saturday it was obvious that even SEC also-rans like this year’s Georgia team (7-5, 4-4 SEC) and South Carolina (7-5, 3-5 SEC) were vastly superior to the cream of the ACC crop, putting a bit of a damper on the upcoming ACC championship game between the Tigers and Yellow Jackets in Tampa.

Like we always say, “Anybody Can Compete,” right?

You Carolina fans are so miserable in the SEC. If it is that tough quit whining and move to a different conference. But then you wouldn’t get millions for mediocrity. So just keep your money and quit worrying about how easy everybody else has it.

    Yes.” http://garnetspy.com/2009/11/28/conference-call-out/

The ACC is a joke in football.

Comments by “Football Fan” shows that:

Clemson is jealous because 1) they are not the University of South Carolina and no one even knows who they are outside of this state 2) They were not invited to join the SEC.

So when in 2008 GT and Clemson defeated UGA and USC that meant that the ACC was superior to the SEC. Is that the way the “logic” goes?

ACC is a joke!, use of terms like “no one” shows your ignorance. You have PROOF (you know what that is don’t you?) that no one outside of this state knows who Clemson is? Try going west of the Mississippi and saying “I went to USC”. Which school do you think the hearer will believe you attended. Go up one state and say “I went to Carolina”. What school do you think the hearer will believe you attended?

Please provide the PROOF that Clemson has NEVER had discussions about membership with the SEC.

Unless you can provide PROOF then it is just mindless babble.

Isn’t SCAR living proof of the ACCs inferiority? Almost 20 years out of the ACC and they still can’t finish the SEC schedule. Hmmm I wonder why the Cocks have never been to the SECCG. No depth, no history, and racistly good mustard bbq. No wonder studs like AJ Green get gone.

    Message from A Gator

    Hello Tiger fans

Before you cast stones, please know that even though I am a Gator, my wife is a Clemson grad as is my father. I hope this at least earns slight rapport with you. Now, on to the apology.

As an SEC person, I want to extend an apology to Clemson fans everywhere and to the rest of the world for that matter, for the behavior of South Carolina fans. As a conference, we are seriously considering banning South Carolina fans from chanting “SEC” at games, pep rallies, and on the street. We understand that this chant for them is a semblance of some greater good, but it is a greater good to which South Carolina has never, nor will ever contribute. It is an embarrassment to the SEC that South Carolina would parade the conference in a manner that would suggest their achievement is merely being a member. It would be like every senior citizen running around shouting “AARP” or “AAA”. Just because you carry the card does not mean you have actually contributed anything to the organization.

Further, as a Florida Gator, I also must let you know that we usually forget that South Carolina is part of the SEC until they do something stupid in effort to taunt their lack of greatness. Everyone in the conference with the exception of Vandy and Mississippi State looks upon South Carolina as the whimpy kid on the playground that gets beat up everyday, has his lunch money taken, and left with a hemorrhoid splitting wedgie. So, again, please do not hold South Carolina’s ridiculous attempts at flaunting greatness against our conference. Perhaps if they had actually accomplished something other than pure mediocrity in their athletics, we, the SEC, would not be embarrassed by their antics. Do we find it acceptable to chant our conference letters when facing an out of conference opponent? Yes. It was okay for us to do so against FSU this past Saturday, as it was in Atlanta for the despicable half-breed dogs from Athens after their win over Georgia Tech. The reason only being that both teams have accomplished levels of greatness in their history. The only levels of greatness achieved in Columbia have been the unfathomably great levels of disappointment, mediocrity, and lawyer fees.

I know that most of you have probably already done the research and know what I am about to tell you, but South Carolina has had 33 coaches in their history. Only twelve have had winning records at the school and of those twelve, three were one year stints so they can hardly be counted with records of 3-0 (1907) and 2-1-1 (1918). Further, South Carolina is now 535-534-44 all time (or .5004 in games decided, .481 in all games [ties included]). VANDY is 551-542-50 all time…That’s right VANDY has a better all time record than South Carolina in football (here’s the % for all you math whizzes: .504 in games decided, .482 in all games). Statistically, South Carolina is a greater doormat than Vandy. Oh yeah, Kentucky has a .503 winning % in games decided and .485 overall. So next time you hear one of those chickens crowing about their conference, please remind them that they are only outdone by Mississippi State in losses.

I promise I am not a statistician, and I know that losses suck, especially when all you can hear is that stupid rooster crowing everytime they complete a pass…blah blah blah. But, statistics don’t lie. They are supposed to get one out of every three. 49-30 all time in Columbia (that’s right at 62.0%)and 16-8 in Death Valley (66.7%) for a total of 63.5% of the wins go to Clemson. We call that domination in Gainesville. Once again showing that we in the SEC do not respect the achievements of South Carolina, nor do we think it acceptable to continually lower the bar for our conference. I have also come to realize that South Carolina has a perpetual inclination towards flaunting the name of a great coach on their sideline, once again attempting to deflect attention away from their mud-dragging history. The latest attempt with Spurrier has done nothing but drag another great name through the mud with the team. What South Carolina has failed to recognize thus far into Spurrier’s tenure is that he keeps a losing record against his in state rivals. We were 5-8 against Free Shoes University under Spurrier and 0-1 against The Urinal (note that Spurrier left in 2001 after lobbying to play a three year series with Miami from 2001-2003, where we probably would have walked away with a 1-2 record under Spurrier). Maybe now that he is 2-3 against Clemson (again 60% is right at 2/3 winning margin for Clemson), South Carlina fans will start to see that he will not get it done there, just like everyone else they have hired.

Anyway, my purpose here has been to apologize on behalf of the SEC for the stupidity of Gamecocks everywhere. Chickens are quite stupid animals and South Carolina does not do much to help with that image. So, from all of your friends in Gainesville, FL, please do not hold their actions against our conference, they just don’t know any better. But, again, as an unofficial spokesman for our conference, the SEC apologizes that South Carolina exists.

WHO among you assholes played even one down of D1 football? All of these players- Clemson, Carolina, Georgia, and the rest excelled at something that you couldn’t dream of doing in your wildest imaginings. A D1 ball player is a D1 ball player, and they are certainly more talented than you stone throwing neanderthals. Give them props, no matter what team, because they are good enough to play college ball. Which is more than ANY of you can say. I have always found it to be true that the monday morning quarterbacks who proclaim the loudest tend to be the nerdy douchebags whose “asthma” (a.k.a fear) kept them off the field in high school. FYI, yelling about how superior “your” football team is doesn’t make your penis any bigger (I know, too bad).

To CNSYD: I only want to comment on your remarks about chickens being quite stupid animals. Are you a poultry expert? Is a reptile, such as an alligator smarter than a fowl? Philippine cock fighters pay upwards of $5,000.00 for a single South Carolina rooster. They are fearless and actually posses quite an intellect. I’m no Gamecock fan nor will I comment on the primeval nature of alligators, nor will I comment on the relationship of mascots as they relate to their schools. But your comments are insulting to the ancient and honorable sport of cockfighting.

    To CNSYD:
Cockfighting is illegal and so is buying beer in some places on Sunday. It is also illegal to shoot whales from a moving car on Highway 1 in California. Playing poker for money is illegal in numerous places. And I believe it is illegal to marry your cousin in Florida, too. And oral sex between consenting adults, even if they are married is illegal in a lot of states. So, all I can tell you is never get caught gambling and drinking at a cockfight on Sunday with your cousin, especially if you plan on shooting orcas.

(and as for my reading skills, sorry I was drunk when I read your post…)

Carolina won fair and square, admit it. ACC is a joke, and as for CNSYD:
You are an idiot. Clemson fans are the ones with no class. The year we win they make excuse after excuse about how they lost.
Its not our fault Spiller gets injured.
Its not our fault Dabo isnt a good coach.
    Face the facts, this year.
Records dont matter. We live in present day, so forget those.
And be prepared for some domination the next few years b/c with a Spillerless Clemson, the team is nothing. And as you saw Saturday, we have some “true freshmen” that are really skilled players.
