Golfer Tiger Woods has been injured in a car crash, the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said Friday.

The single-car accident took place in the early morning hours just outside of a home Woods owns in Isleworth, an exclusive community located outside of Orlando, Florida.

According to an incident report released by the Florida Highway Patrol, the 2009 Cadillac SUV driven by Woods hit a fire hydrant and then a tree in his neighbor’s yard shortly after leaving the driveway.

Details of Woods injuries were not immediately known, and there is no record of him ever being checked into the hospital where he was reportedly transported.

The incident report says that the airbags in Woods’ SUV failed to deploy on impact, a sign that his vehicle was traveling at low rate of speed.

The FHP has ruled out alcohol as a factor in the crash – which occurred shortly after 2:00 a.m. – although it says the accident is still under investigation.

The crash comes as Woods finds himself in the tabloids for having an alleged affair with New York party planner Rachel Uchitel.

UPDATE I … The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that Woods was treated for “facial lacerations.”

UPDATE II … Woods’ agent Tweets “he’s fine.”

UPDATE III … Woods’ wife, model Elin Nordegren, reportedly used a golf club to bash out the back windows of the SUV and assist her husband, according to local law enforcement.

UPDATE IV … Ruh-roh.  Reports are now that Nordegren allegedly caused Tiger’s facial lacerations as well as the damage to the SUV.
