At a time when the massive void caused by the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks is no doubt freshest in the minds of the families who lost loved ones, a website has decided to release over half a million text messages from that fateful morning.
We applaud the release of the information (over 570,000 text and data messages) as it represents a tremendous new resource for investigators, scholars and journalists who continue to examine from all angles the national tragedy that claimed nearly 3,00o American lives. In particular, the release of the government data is a real treasure trove for researchers looking to assess the federal government’s response to the tragedy.
The timing of the information’s release, however, strikes us as a bit insensitive.
Anyway, we analyzed several pages of the new data Thursday morning and were struck by just how instantaneous and raw the information is.
In fact, just six seconds after the first plane struck the North Tower, there appears in the voluminous digital archive a seemingly innocuous message that nonetheless represents the first recorded reference to the attack.
“Market data inconsistent … Cantor API problem Trading system offline,” the page reads.
Cantor Fitzgerald – located in the North Tower – had just sustained a direct hit from American Airlines Flight 11 at the time the message was sent.
“It’s a deliberate attack … a second plane just few into the second tower,” another message reads less than a minute after the second plane hit the World Trade Center.
The rapid fire status updates quickly give way to panic, however, as friends and family began the arduous process of confirming whether or not their loved ones were safe.
“Getting scared! Give us a call!” one of hundreds of frantic messages reads.
“We need to do an awful lot of praying today,” another reads.
Other messages highlight the mass confusion that quickly set in.
“There is smoke coming from the White House,” one of the texts says, while another references other buildings in New York being “blown up.”
Interestingly, the data released includes not only hundreds of thousands of civilian texts, pages and data messages, but tons of government information as well – including messages sent by Secret Service members who were tasked with protecting then-President George W. Bush’s two daughters.
Messages sent by Department of Defense personnel are also included, leading some to believe that the source of the massive leak was military.
Wikileaks won’t say who its sources are (nor should they), although a spokesman did say that “it is clear that the information comes from an organization which has been intercepting and archiving US national telecommunications since prior to 9/11.”
How comforting …

Bat guano leaking from possible US military source? You expect me to accept bs mixed in with selected calls to convince me that a sandman in the Middle East desert did the dirty? Not just “No” but “Hell, no” I’m not convinced. Did they include in the release supposed calls coming from cell phones on planes going hundreds of miles per hour at a time when I could not keep a cell phone connected driving 70 mph on the interstate?
I am very sympathetic to all those who lost loved ones and feel for the grief they must endure, particularly during holidays.

… Answer …Thermite used in controlled implosions. I watched amateur videos of the fall of the towers that day, broadcast on national television stations before handlers took the vids off the air. All three buildings were imploded.
Years ago, working in downtown Atlanta, we would stand around watching while old tall buildings were imploded to make way for new high-rises. The exact same, and telltale signs, showed up on the many NYC videos shown on 9/11. An imploded building falls from the bottom, which crumbles and gives way, after tufts of smokey dust whoosh out from bottom level doors and windows. Then the building slides straight down, just like a peg being driven into a hole.

Before someone pops off with insults, they need to read the investigatory evidence concerning 9/11, especially the evidence provided by New York citizens, victims, and police & firemen who responded.
There are videos taken by witnesses and interviews which do contradict the currently accepted story of what happened on 9/11.
Now see if you can make time for that, No Way, and then spew insults their way. People put their asses on the line everyday, victims included, to get truth to the public so they can form their own educated opinions & beliefs. Far too many fools won’t take the time to research it or are too poorly educated to do so.

A soldier very close & dear to me now sits in an institution because he tried to expose what he saw while a soldier, both in the Middle East & here at home.

I’ll be the first to say I believe it was some in our government, the Bush family was directly involved, along with Saudi Arabia, & that this country was drawn into Middle Eastern conflicts because of that liquid gold called oil that is no longer necessary because of alternate energy sources.

I would be the first to be behind my child or me giving my life to defend my country.BUT…I do not see it as “PATRIOTIC” getting young men killed for an illegal invasion that has no basis for our countries safety. If you keep this up you’re going to lose all the clever and thinking people around you. How can cell phones make calls in planes flying hundreds of miles per hour? Statements from key people that differ from the official version of events, buildings that smoulder for months and all these business connections raise truly disturbing questions if you do any thinking. Rather than make enemies of your neighbors, it would be a lot easier if you stopped asking questions. It’s a lot easier to not question the official version. Conformity is the way. When society says to not ask questions, you should follow suit in order to fit in. Truly disturbing questions such as have been raised here will keep you awake at night. You need to sleep in order to take part in the ballgames tomorrow. People rely on FOX News and other outlets to take the guess out of everything that matters. If FOX is good enough for the highest level Republicans, it’s good enough for all. Military personnel are treated just as you say, but if you bring this up, you’re going to lose your social standing. The business connections and all that are true, but society doesn’t recognize truth unless they hear it from the mainstream media. No one should be murdered, but if you question it and make your neighbor grumble because of asking questions, you’ll lose all your friends. No one should die to make someone rich, but if you say this you will be called a unpatriotic and a traitor. The brainwashing has been successful and you are right, but how can you stop an earthquake from shaking?
