Well,lets see. He has lost the Boy Scouts and their parents, the whole military since they have declared that our troops overseas won’t have their votes counted as they will come in to late, hunters and sportsmen, several complete states and the rest of us are as mad as hell. Even Michell doesn’t seem to pleased with him if you see their pictures together these days. Who else can we get before he buys the illegal aliens votes with amnesty? Heaven help us all and protect us from our present government as our rights are being taken from right under our noses. I can’t help but wonder who is pulling his strings as he isn’t smart enough to even talk without a teleprompter.

I’m currently a scout as “Star rank” and almost “Life rank”. To hear that when I get my “Eagle” that I may not get a signed paper from the President of the United States Of America upsets me to the point were I think Obama should not even be in office in fact I dint want him in the first place. This is teeth grinding metal bending anger. I’m outraged.

Ok, so this is months late, but I have a question about the post from
CL on November 25th, 2009 at 4:34 pm

What law pertains to this? Boy Scout law? Although I am an Eagle scout and BSA supporter, (1) I am not familiar with even a BSA rule about this and (2) I don’t think the President should be beholden to BSA rules, and certainly not held to them as “law”. That’s weird.

My son (and all the other recent Eagles in our troop) has a letter and certificate both signed by President Obama. Mine, on the other hand, was signed by Richard Nixon, the only president ever to resign to avoid being removed from office.

My son is a Boy Scout, just earned the rank of Star and two ranks away from Eagle. Ok, the Scouts have had their problems but what organization hasn’t?. I’m also a Cub Scout Leader and firmly believe in the Boy Scout Program. The Boy Scout Law states…”A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent.” Are those not qualities we as parents want to instill in our children? I think they are and with the help of the Boy Scouts, I teach my son these are good qualities to carry through life.

My son had done more by the time he turned 13 (just this year) than I did by the time I was 40. It keeps him out of troube and keeps his mind and body active.

He’s already got his Eagle Scout project in mind but I may slow him down a bit. Whether or not Obama is signing the Eagle Scout certificates, I think we’ll wait for the next president to sign my son’s.

Being an Eagle Scout, I wanted to know if this was true so I called The National Scout Office in Irving Texas (TODAY) and after speaking briefly with the phone receptionists was directed to their media department.

The official Boy Scouts of America response to the Internet rumors is that it was absolutely not true. She said that there was a couple week delay right after President Obama took office (like with other new presidents) but this was not any more or less than past presidents. The national office was aware of internet stories that had been circulated right after the inauguration which would fit with the transition but thought the topic had fallen off of the internet radar. The president has been “actively signing Eagle Scout certificates since the transition”.

I asked her if the national office could issue a media release to dispel the rumors and she believe it to be a good idea and was going to speak with management about that.
