I’ve got a friend who is so old she had to have a job for six months, which in my book is ooooooooooold. it was like, some, life experience thing, before she got on with her real life. I would perpetually see the farmville things on her FB account. Now – this is a COOL girl with amazing interests and friends and talents – the only possible reason for her to do that – a lot – is she was slowly (or quickly) losing her little mind in her office. It was even a cool office. It was just that it was…an office. She just msg’d me saying she would never enter an office again, even for an apendectomy – no office of any sort. she’d rather have her gut explode. honest.

So telling you it “.. allows members of Facebook to manage a virtual farm by planting, growing and harvesting virtual crops, trees, and livestock.” is not clear enough? What part of that is difficult to understand? Now if you asked WHY TF FarmVille, now that would make sense. But it’s obvious you and Wikipedia answered your question very clearly.

The creators of Farmville are making an absolute killing on CPM advertising. Figure they get 50,000,000 ad impressions per day (not unique users), divide by 1000 for CPM, and are making $1.00 per 1000 views. That’s $50,000 per DAY they bring in.

Sic,
You could start “Doofusville” on the FITS site and make a fortune. For a small fee the viewers could be the Senator or Representative of their choice and we could all see what terrible virtual decisions we could make together. The winner gets to hike the Appalachian Trail as Governor of Doofusville. SC’s very own fantasy legislative league! I am not sure how you would work in the B&CB and the constitutional officers but feel free to take the idea and run with it.

I believe I heard something about playing games and doing quizzes on Facebook, such as Farmville, allows sources to pull your profile off of Facebook for other purposes.
