before the civil war, it was completely legal to leave the union at anytime because the united states in its original form was actually a loose alliance of states (state = country)

now, states were largely autonomous (self governing for people with your iq) and thefederal government was meant to serve as an intermeddiatary between that states.

all was well untill lincoln comes along with his fresh new brand of totalitarianism that the US had just escaped from in the form of the british empire

and in true liberal form, he starts making arbitrary demands and judgements.

i’ve only recently (these past 2 years) begun to seek out and cherish my southern heritage! i could never read or study or listen to the varying opinions of my past that could ever equal what my heart tells me is true. i truly love that flag!

It ain’t complicated. We either move the monument to the side and fly Confederate flag(s) around it year-round (the Alabama solution) or keep the monument where it is and fly the Confederate flag only on Confederate Memorial Day (the North Carolina solution). Choosing either of these options, both of which respect the Confederate soldiers and the Confederate flag tremendously, is what we should do. I recommend the NC solution.

The “compromise” in 2000 almost completely solved the issue, but we still have a tourism boycott and a tournament ban. With this final decision, to implement either Alabama’s solution or North Carolina’s solution, we can finally move forward and define and market our state how we wish. Other states and businesses won’t be able to use this issue to their advantage over us, and we can have more jobs and more economic development.
