Senate Health Care Vote Looms

Having narrowly been rammed through the U.S. House earlier this month, it’s now the U.S. Senate’s turn to shove a little socialized medicine up the collective American yin-yang …

Quick, somebody call our proctologist!  While we can still afford him!

Having introduced his 2,074-page, $900 billion (some say $2.5 trillion) plan this week, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is now pushing for a vote to start debating the controversial measure – a vote which could come as soon as this Saturday.

Like the $1.2 trillion (some say $2.6 trillion) U.S. House plan, which narrowly passed earlier this month, Reid’s bill includes a public option that would allow the government to compete in the health care market – which it also regulates.  The proposal also includes sweeping government mandates on individuals and small businesses (complete with jail time for those who do not comply) as well as a massive expansion of Medicaid and numerous new taxpayer-funded subsidies.

Hence our accurate, albeit unoriginal “socialized medicine” description.

Saturday’s vote to open debate on the legislation will be an early indicator of the “hard opposition” the bill faces, as all forty Republicans are expected to vote against it.

That means Reid has zero margin for error, as it will take a 60-vote “super-majority” even to bring the legislation to the floor.

It’s time to get rid of the VA too! We don’t want our veterans contaminated by socialized medicine.

Pre-vote, I’d recommend the all 2074 + pages be ALOUD in its entirety on the Senate Floor. Bread and water served only.
