Obama Tours China’s “Great Firewall”
U.S. President Barack Obama – who has a spotty record of protecting free speech here in America – got a taste of his own big government medicine (no, not that medicine) during a town hall meeting in Shanghai.
During a question-and-answer session, Obama called himself a “big supporter of non-censorship.”
“I can tell you that in the United States, the fact that we have free Internet — or unrestricted Internet access — is a source of strength, and I think should be encouraged,” Obama said.
Yeah right … that’s why the FCC is currently inhabited by the likes of Mark Lloyd, who has advocated for the communist-style suppression of media outlets that don’t tow the government’s line.
Anyway, Lloyd would have no doubt begrudgingly admired the Chinese government’s response to Obama’s remarks – which was to immediately scrub them from the Internet and ignore or downplay them on its television networks.
Thankfully, here at FITS, we have experience navigating the Chinese Firewall.
It’s called “copy, paste and send,” people.

I thought that Fits was a big supporter of non-censorship too, until yesterday’s comment section in which I referenced the Clemson cunts, and Fits inserted an asterisk in the cunt instead of my swollen rod! Totally bush league. I might even go so far as to call him a wussy.
Now you may ask, why did he censor my comment? Was Fits fearful of a defamation lawsuit (heavens no!), or did he just decide, this is my fucking website and I’ll do whatever I fucking want (in fairness, I have to admit that this is the more likely scenerio). But if it’s the lawsuit, where is his vaunted “public figure” defense? After all, those young women posed freely and voluntarily for that picture, which Clemson then freely and voluntarily disseminated to the world via the internet. That makes them public figures to me. But even more so, the truth is an absolute defense, and I don’t know about y’all, but I saw lots of cunt in that pic (which of course left me wanting to see more!).
Don’t get me wrong, Fits is still the Palmetto State’s most innovative and influential “new media” source, but yesterday’s developments were enough to send shivers down my spine.

Jonny D,
We don’t like the word c*nt, nor do we like your use of it.
It’s a vile word, and one usually uttered by individuals who are for whatever reason generally precluded from spending much time down there.
Having said that, we have de-astericked your previous comment and apologize for censoring you.
If people feel the need to say c*nt, then we will leave it to the marketplace of ideas to “censor” them.

As you say, the marketplace of ideas is a powerful force for good, and should not be snuffed out by censorship.
Thank you.
