Jenny Sanford TM
Eight days after her husband admitted having an affair with his Latin lover (and lying to the people of South Carolina in an effort to cover it up), S.C. First Lady Jenny Sanford filed to trademark her own name.
Wait … what?
That’s right. According to U.S. Patent and Trademark records obtained by WIS TV 10 (NBC – Columbia), Mrs. Sanford filed a trademark for her name on July 2, making it a “good or service” and granting the First Lady exclusive rights to “product merchandising to be sold at on-line retail store featuring clothing, mugs and other household items; stickers, decals, notepads.”
S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford wasn’t immediately available for comment regarding his wife’s shrewd business move.

The Patent and Trademark Office has not decided whether to allow Ms. Sanford’s name to be trademarked. On September 30, the USPTO sent Ms. Sanford a request for additional information “and/or making an initial refusal,” according to the website.
In late September, nearly two months after the trademark was filed, publisher Ballantine Books announced a deal for Ms. Sanford to write a memoir.
On Thursday, ABC said Ms. Sanford would be interviewed by Barbara Walters as one of “The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009.” The program will air on December 9.
Seriously, this is why Jenny Sanford is worth eleventy kabillion dollars and the rest of us – her husband included – are not.
Oh, in addition to Bahbwaah Waahlters show, Mrs. Sanford also reportedly has several other nationally-televised appearances coming up, including an appearance on Larry King Live, and another interview with Katie Couric.
Having had her fill of privacy, looks like Mrs. Sanford is transitioning into “profit” mode …
What? Those books aren’t gonna sell themselves, people.

Why people want to talk with her and think she is someone to look up to, certainly do not know her well. Cold hearted woman, who used to boss the Gov.’s staff around and talked about her husband in interviews as if he were a piece of furniture ( way before the affair) is the way many of us see her. I respect Katie Couric so much, and hate that she may not really know the real Mrs. Sanford. Hope any interview lets the viewers see the real person. Kinda like the interviews with Sarah Palin.
