Bouldered Over
Of all the 2009 election results that are likely causing President Barack Obama’s socialist cornhole to pucker up tighter than a snare drum, none stands out to us as being any more significant than the decision by voters in Boulder, Colorado to reject a sales tax for “green space.”
For those of you unfamiliar with the voting history of Boulder, it hasn’t gone Republican in a presidential election since 1984, hasn’t voted down a “green” initiative since 1989 and was carried by Obama just one year ago by 72.4%.
Hell, Ralph Nadar got 12% here in 2000, people.
Anyway, the Boulder rejection of a tax hike for “green space” was one of several left-leaning local referendums in liberal corners of Colorado that failed last week … which has editorial boards in the Centennial State taking note of a “sea change” in the mood of voters.
Not surprisingly, of course, Obama and his fellow socialists in Congress aren’t heeding the will of those voters – or voters in New Jersey or Virginia - they’re pushing as fast as they can to ram as much of their agenda down the throats of an American public that clearly doesn’t want it.

We the People are more in the middle of the road than the elected elite give us credit for. We are also sick of having “stuff” forced down our throats.

Let’s not forget that CO is also the state where marijuana was legalized in one town in the last election, though. I’m still thinking they are pretty “green” overall. I also think it’s time to plan a trip to that town, for….medical reasons.

Ignorance is bliss.
The vote you’re referring to took place in Boulder County, not the city of Boulder and results show turnout among the more conservative citizens of Longmont was higher than in the city of Boulder. This probably says more about the motivations of people going to the polls this year than anything else.
But don’t let those icky facts get in your way.

“…causing President Barack Obama’s socialist cornhole to pucker up tighter than a snare drum….”
Funny but grossly unfair. You don’t tighten a snare drum by puckering it.
