“The Abominable Crime Of Buggery”
South Carolina has landed on The Drudge Report again, and amazingly this time it has nothing to do with our “Luv Gov” Mark Sanford.
The story that piqued the almighty media aggregator’s interest? It’s the tale of Rodell Vereen, a mentally ill Conway man who was arrested earlier this year for having sex with a 21-year-old horse named “Sugar.”
It’s the second time in two years that Vereen was caught sexually molesting the horse. The first time he was given probation and required to register as a sex offender.
This time, Vereen received a three-year prison sentence for committing “the abominable crime of buggery.”
Speaking of buggery (giggle), its most famous alleged practitioner was former Russian empress Catherine the Great – who rumor has it was crushed to death beneath a strapping steed when her attendants lost their grip on the ropes that were holding the animal in place.
Of course, it was later alleged that the whole “horse sex” story was a smear campaign, and that Polish emigres were responsible for concocting the rumor.
Anyway, let’s all raise a forty and flic our bics for Vereen, shall we?

I have a problem with him having to register as a sex offender. That’s serious stuff and severely impacts your civil rights. He doesn’t pose any threat to humans…and maybe not to animals if the horse consented.

Did you hear about the guy who was having sex with an Argentinian horse in the cemetery? Seems he was coming from a cockfight and had this underage rooster with him. The rooster blew a 1.9 on the breathalyzer– well over the limit. The guy claimed he was coming from a Klan meeting and someone must have slipped the chicken a mickey. The officer who let the three go is being investigated by SLED. The sherif’s office issued a “no comment” and said they were turning the investigatioin over to Animal Control.
