Corzine Defeated In New Jersey
A Republican has won statewide office in New Jersey for the first time in a dozen years, as Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine was ousted Tuesday night by former U.S. Attorney Chris Christie
With 99% of precincts reporting, Christie had 49% of the vote compared to 44% for Corzine. Independent candidate Christopher Daggett – who had polled as high as 20% in some surveys in recent weeks – finished with a disappointing 5% of the vote.
Christie emerged as the victor in this race despite a full-court press from President Barack Obama – who carried New Jersey by a whopping 15% margin a year ago. Obama made five appearances in the state on behalf of the Democratic incumbent over the past few weeks, including a massive rally in Newark just days before the election.
Christie relied heavily on support from independents and disgruntled Democrats, as Republicans represent just one-in-five New Jersey voters.
Among those voters’ gripes with Corzine? He failed to deliver on his promise of middle class property tax relief and was unable to clean up what is generally acknowledged as one of the most corrupt states in America.
Corzine, who self-financed his campaign, enjoyed a better than 2-to-1 campaign cash advantage over Christie – who accepted public financing.
In the end, the didn’t matter. Nor did the fact that supporters of Corzine – including groups from neighboring states affiliated with ACORN – were already being accused of voter fraud long before the polls even opened on Tuesday.
Anyway, along with Republican Bob McDonnell’s landslide victory over Democrat Creigh Deeds in Virginia, the New Jersey race has been viewed as an early indicator of the mood of the country with respect to the Obama administration and its policies.
And once again, that mood is clearly “not good.”

That sucking sound you are hearing is the sound of Senate democrats retreating at the sight of the GOP bayonets in Waterloo.
The House democrats – God love them – they’re not as bright…
General Longstreet – hold fire until the men see the whites of their eyes…

Ok, fitz, I’ll bite. Name a single ACORN worker in New Jersey. Give us a cite on any conviction at any time anywhere in the US for ACORN voter fraud. Simply can’t be done, fitz. You should know better, not that your dumb arse readers will, that there is a difference between voter registration fraud and vote fraud.
Tell us about Doug Hoffman, fitz, the CONSERVATIVE who managed to lose to a Democratic candidate where no Democrat has been elected in 150 years.

RBB-you asserted last nite that Bush “stole” the 2000 election.
Where’s your evidence?
Maybe the evidence is “hid” in a Red Bank meth trailer…

RBB, I see you have the latest lefty talking points. Even you are not so stupid as to believe that voter registration fraud is not simply laying the groundwork for voter fraud. You are asking for a distinction without a difference. Typical of the left. Learn to lose. You’re going to have to get used to it.
By OnNoNotAgain on November 4th, 2009 at 2:32 pm
I’m not looking at any talking points, but for anyone to draw a national mood out of a Republican winning a governor seat in a southern state, and a challenger defeating a governor with accusations of political corruption everywhere around, and undelivered promises, wow. That’s a stretch.
If Corzine had done everything he promised AND he was unseated, then I’d think you have an indication of voter disapproval of Obama.
And I’m no Obama supporter by any means.
I do think the N.Y. House race indicates some kind of divide among Republicans.
But I also think it could have been, among a majority of them, “I like what he says, but I can’t stand the googly eyes.”
Stupid reason, but some voters vote for stupid reasons.

Uh, Sidney…. Mickey and Minnie flunked the DNA tests to vote. I know, I know, they’re obviously smarter than the average Faux News watcher.
Clark Kent, et al., aren’t voting Sidney. You obviously cannot handle the fact your beloved mythology cannot be proven. NAME ONE PERSON, Sidney, just one, ever convicted on voter fraud who was acting on behalf of ACORN. It simply cannot be done and you should be ashamed of your own ignorance.

RBB, I always try to have sympathy for the mentally challenged, but in your case, I will make an exception. Simply repeating your silly rants doesn’t make you look like you are making a valid point. Regurgitating the leftist tripe you are stuffing down your gullet doesn’t make you clever. If you don’t understand the reference to “a distinction without a difference,” just say so. Admitting you cannot grasp the english language is nothing to be ashamed of, when you are so woefully ill-equipped in the first place. Fraud is fraud, my small-minded friend, and convictions are convictions. And ACORN is corrupt, has been caught, and will continue to get hammered in court. I know you have difficulties with reality, but I figured I’d try one more time.

N.J. gov’s race exit polls show property taxes top issues for voters….not a federal issue

Corzine defeated himself.

Sids response didn’t address one issue raised in RBBs comment. He insulted him, and completely ignored RBBs point. Pretty sad that instead of having an adult discussion you choose to call people names, it really says more about you than the people you are writing about. I notice your comments on other issues and you never discuss the issues raised you just insult people. You are a Troll. A pathetic Troll. Unless you can add to the discussion please do not bore the rest of us with your insults, poorly reasoned arguments and general lack of any civility.
Acorn is finished as an org and they should be. The simple fact is they paid homeless low-lifes to register names and they broke the law to make more money. They didn’t add one single vote to Obamas election total though! not a single vote! Again a fact, not an opinion. Mickey Mouse doesn’t have I.D., cant vote and doesn’t effect the election one tiny bit. Its a completely moot argument, but the mouth breathers hold on to it like the holy grail. (Cue Sid calling me a moron in ..one..two..)

May be missing it, but I still don’t see an article … or at least a headline showing the “Owens defeats crazy republican Hoffman.” You’ve posted the 2 republican wins, but not the D win. Can we not be more fair and balanced?
By Comeback Kid? on November 4th, 2009 at 10:46 pm
Don’t call it a comeback, but is Michael Reese commenting on blogs again? He needs to crank up his old blog. Remember that one Will? It helped sink K-Flo in 2006.

JS,
I know you post here regularly, but do you read any posts? I have never started an insult thread, but merely entered into it when someone showed that’s the path they want to go down. I also always address the specifics people raise. In this case, though, I chose to simply insult RBB, because that is all he/she knows. That’s all he/she posts. I’ve already corrected him/her on the ACORN thing in other posts elsewhere, which you are free to read. Clearly you support the distinction without a difference argument. It’s a weak one, but it is one to which you are entitled.
I guess my real question to you is, what’s with folks running to RBB’s defense every time I decide to play the game he/she likes to play? He/she seems fully capable of slinging his own mud. In fact, that’s all he/she does. So why do folks feel the need to defend him/her?
As for my presence here, I’ve been posting for a couple years, so I don’t think that really qualifies for troll status. If you don’t like my posts, just ignore them. I know you won’t be able to, but you can try. Also, try to read them without your personal prejudices fully enlamed. You may get better comprehension. If you’d like, though, you can take it up with FITS to see if you can have me banned. Let me know how that works out for you.
