Rusty DePass Also Hates Red Lights
A GOP activist who earlier this year compared U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama to an escaped gorilla at a Columbia S.C. zoo is back in the news – this time for an August run-in with the University of South Carolina police department.
Like S.C. House Speaker Bobby Harrell, DePass apparently doesn’t like to stop at red lights.
Unlike Harrell, though (or whoever was driving Harrell’s SUV in the S.C. Upstate earlier this year) DePass is inclined to run red lights knowingly, right in front of the cops – with a suspended drivers’ license, no less.
According to a incident report filed with the University of South Carolina Police Department, DePass was issued a courtesy summons after he ran a red light with a suspended license in late August on Blossom Street in downtown Columbia.
“DePass stated that he refused to sit at a traffic light for more than a minute and thirty seconds and had disregarded the light despite having clearly observed my patrol car across the intersection from him,” the arresting officer wrote in the report. “DePass’s license was (run) through (the) Department of Motor Vehicle files and (was) returned as suspended for failure to pay traffic tickets …”
Nice.
We knew Rusty DePass was a dumb ass, but running a red light in front of a cop? With a suspended license?
That’s asking for it.
In addition to the summons, DePass’s license was confiscated. He received a ride home from “one of his church members.”

Clemson is in Pickens County, not Oconee County. Both half-assed backwards, but Oconee County, at least, is closer to Georgia, so the more superior of the two.

DePass has been a joke for a while. The GOP hasn’t taken him seriously, only the media has. They have painted him as some sort of GOP spokesman.

Sounds like he is in the running for Dork Bauer’s unofficial, unannounced, non-anointed campaign for Governor. DB and Rusty DeDumbass should make a great team.
