A “Public Option”

obama health care reform

The U.S. Senate’s final version of health care reform will include a “public option” that allows the U.S. government to compete in a market that it also regulates – a move that could pave the way for nationalization of the health care industry in America.

After two weeks of negotiations with Obama officials that were conducted behind closed doors, Senate President Harry Reid announced that the “public option” would be included in the bill, although he hinted that states might be permitted to “opt out” of that part of the plan.

“I believe there’s a strong consensus to move forward in this direction,” Reid told reporters Monday.

Of course, the “opt out” provision isn’t what it seems.  For starters, if states “opt out” of the public plan, they are still on the hook for the rest of Obamacare’s costs, and the government may require them to create a “public option” of their own.

Plus, how long will it be until the feds start imposing various “matching monies” that are contingent on states participating in a federal “public option.”

The debate comes at a time when government-run health careis facing withering scrutiny.

Specifically, a CBS 60 Minutes report over the weekend exposed the fact that one out of every seven dollars the government spends on health care (or $60 billion a year) goes toward fraudulent claims.

And this is a system Obama wants to expand to the tune of 100 million new applicants?

God help us …

Just chill. Who knows what the heck it’s actually gonna look like when it’s all done. Any by the way, Webster’s has a new definition of torture: being forced to discuss health care reform with your ex-wife/ex-girlfriend. So relax, enjoy the simple things like your daughter’s fantastic piss and shit filled diaper (with no risk of getting hit in the face during a change), and remember, cada coisa em seu lugar, cada tempo em seu lugar…

If Obama wants to socialize medicine, let’s start with the drug companies first. Socialize them all and let us at least have a chance to buy prescription drugs as cheap as other countries do now.

It is a crime we are held hostage to pay retail sky high prices for drugs, which was all set up during the Republican orgy in office.

Elmer – feel free to stop being held hostage by a drug company and stop taking their medicine.

I have one prescription that costs a little over $1200.00 per month. That’s 3 tablets a day. Without it, my life doesn’t count for much.
With it, I don’t count at all.
