Palin Endorses Third Party Challenger

sarah palin

For all her talk of “Going Rogue,” everything we’ve seen of Sarah Palin since the conclusion of the 2008 campaign has led us to believe that she was just another establishment Republican – and a whiny, unoriginal one at that.

In fact, other than being train-smoke hot, Palin has done virtually nothing to impress us this year … until last week.

Like fellow GOP babe Jeri Thompson, Palin came out in support of the insurgent, third-party candidacy of Doug Hoffman, an accounting executive who is running against liberal Republican Dede Scozzafava and Democrat Bill Owen in an open U.S. House race in Upstate New York.  The contest – which currently shows Hoffman polling within a few percentage points of his major party rivals – has crystallized the debate over whether or not left-leaning Republicans like Scozzafava (who supported President Barack Obama’s “stimulus”) should get a free ride against Democrats with similar records.

Thompson and Palin say “no,” and they’re exactly right.

Republicans proved during the previous decade that they are no better than Democrats when it comes to protecting the taxpayers, and this notion that GOP politicians are somehow entitled to the support of America’s fiscal conservative voting bloc (when they refuse to embrace fiscally conservative principles) is ludicrous.

A plague on both their houses, if you ask us.

The Republican National Committee, incidentally, said last week it plans to spend between $200,000 and $300,000 in support of Scozzafava.

Figures …

I think you mistake ‘whining’ for roguish behavior. If by ‘whining’ you mean resigning, then you don’t understand what was going on in Alaska at the time. It was a brilliant move, btw.
Other than that I don’t know what you mean by “whiny” considering she hates the press and never talked to them.
Oh, maybe you didn’t like her ‘whining’ about Zeke and his standards for rationing healthcare, aka “death panels.” People have been educating themselves ever since.
Learn more facts about Palin. You’ll like her!

Sarah Palin another establishment republican? Where have you been??!! Glad you can now spot the difference – millions did a long time ago.

By Ynot on October 26th, 2009 at 5:34 am

Palin broke from the “Republican” political nonsense when she resigned as Governor. Probably got some ultimatum from the party.
Remember there were questions about her marital ” fidelity”?
Makes one wonder who she is ” fidel” to doesn’t it?

Listen up to the ” voice of reason”

Palin broke from the Repub establishment years ago, when she defied powerful Alaskan Repubs (risking her entire political career), and she blew the lid off a corruption scheme that was going on in her Party. At that point, she became persona non grata among the “good ol’ boys” in her State…

Palin is a self-aggrandizing ass. Her motives are as clear as day – get as much as I can for myself while the getting is good. She puts a pretty face on a lot of stupid and hateful ideas. Oh wait, maybe she is an establishment Republican.

Palin/Paul 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By OnNoNotAgain on October 26th, 2009 at 1:32 pm

If she’s following Jeri Thompson’s tail, well, I’d like to see more of that. …

Palin/Paul 2012 = Obama/Biden 2012 I guess that for all the banter no one understands the dynamics of single member pluralities so I will break it down Barney style. If a thrid party runs who will pull from the Republican base then the Democrats win. It is not that difficult – sorry that Libertarians are not a viable party but it is the reality of the system – there has been over 80 years of research on this and still everyone cheers when someone goes libertarian because they are “bucking the system” or “going rogue.” So please by all means, be loud, be rogue, be whatever all you are doing is hurting the chances for any part of your ideas to get implemented.

The fact is the Dems pray every night she runs or becomes more vocal in the GOP. While she plays to her base and they love her, the fact remains the majority of Americans have a negative opinion of Mrs Palin. The simple truth is if she couldn’t handle some simple questions from Katy Couric (for the love of God!!) what makes anyone feel she could handle Kim in N. Korea or Almacrazyguy in Iran? She can definitely fire up her limited base but nationally she is viewed as a joke and in my opinion actually helps the Democrats. Can anyone with a straight face honestly say she is fit to be President with the difficult times we are currently facing/will face in the future? Please..dont respond with criticisms of Obama..no matter how deserved that is not the subject at hand. Thanks

I wouldn’t rush to discount this woman prematurely.

The dems have thrown a lot of feces at her.

A lot is sticking.

By 2012 I suspect she may very well be smelling like a rose.

Palin, Sanford, FITS…can you say delusions of grandeur?

By Old Bike Dude on October 27th, 2009 at 8:49 am

Palin is nothing more than a self important media whore and the media is optional.
The new face of the Repubicant party is our very own Cooter. And Cooter she is not from Alaska.

By sid on October 27th, 2009 at 9:24 am

The left fears Palin. Otherwise, why would it care so much what she does? Only a moron wastes time beating up on an opponent that is supposedly a lost cause. Then again, we are talking about lefties, so maybe they are right, sine they are morons.

JR, I don’t recall anyone saying Palin/Paul was supposed to be a third-party ticket. They are both still Republicans. I don’t think it will happen, but if they were at the top of the Republican ticket, and based on what Barry has done thus far (Biden doesn’t even count, as he’s all liability with no benefit), the Dems would be one-and-done. Guarantee.

Truth, Barry’s done such a great job with Iran and NK that we should just stop worrying, right? I don’t see a situation where Palin could possibly do worse than the weak approach Barry has taken. He’s a farse, and proving every day to be so much less than I thought he was. And I actually was concerned, because I disagreed with most of his policies, but was fooled into thinking he was smart. Politically, he’s an idiot.

OBD, where is Palin from, if it’s not Alaska? Talk about being a whore. You’re just a whore for the left, parroting its talking points yet again. It’s a shame lefties take such advantage of the mentally challenged.

By The Truth on October 27th, 2009 at 10:16 am

Sid..you seem to be far off topic. Try to restrain your over zealous hatred of the left and stick to the topic at hand. Do you really need to call people names to make your point, or to stress your lack of a point. Please..in the future if you want to speak with the adults please act like one.

By sid on October 27th, 2009 at 11:04 am

Really? That’s what you’ve got to offer? How can I be off topic when I addressed specific points made by others, you included? I didn’t call you a name, so why are you so upset? Do you really think others here I may have called a name need you running to their defense. My, aren’t you rather full of yourself.

Now, if you’re talking about me insulting Barry, I guess it’s OK for you to sling dirt at Sarah, but heaven forbid anyone say anything remotely unkind about The One. Oh, and you cannot raise a point about how Sarah would handle a situation Barry is facing, then say nobody can talk about Barry’s failures in those very situations. That’s just, well, childish. Tool.

Look, I called you names (see if you can find them), even though you implied I should not. What in the world will you do now? The best you can offer is phony indignation. Oh, and irony, and that’s accidental, and only when you post with your oh-so-imaginative name.

By The Truth on October 27th, 2009 at 12:42 pm

Sid all i can do is laugh at you. Go ahead, root for Palin. Small suggestion; i wouldn’t take it personally every time someone disagrees with you or your view on Palin as the majority of the country has a poor view of her. But you go ahead cowboy, you keep calling people tools, morons and whatever juvenile names you can think of as you hide behind your monitor. Just another WANNABE Internet tough guy who couldn’t fight his way out of a bag but feels he can insult people from his mothers basement. Go ahead and insult Obama, no skin off my nose. I dont really like the guy so if you think you are hurting my feelings knock yourself out tough guy, again, I and everyone else will just sit back an laugh at you. Something tells me this is not the first time everyone has laughed at you but thankfully i dont know you or wherever your little basement is located.

By sid on October 27th, 2009 at 2:27 pm

If that’s what helps you to sleep better at night, so be it. Small minds do tend to offer small suggestions (look, I called you a name again), so no surprise with your offering. Tool. Hey, I like when you give me permission to call you names. It’s so empowering.

But in the big picture, I couldn’t possibly care less what you think, of me or of anything. I’m not really sure you have the capacity to truly think, based on your little diatribes.

“Internet tough guy who couldn’t fight his way out of a paper bag”? Who’s acting all big-boy tough? Why make this some sort of testosterone thing? Seems to me guys who start laying down the thinly-veiled physical challenges are the ones who are lacking the most in that arena. But that’s just my opinion.

Also, when you start talking about people who “hide behind [their] monitor,” you do realize you are talking about yourself, right? Or is The Truth your given name? Awfully presumptuous (and amusingly ironic) parents you must have.

Oh, and I wasn’t trying to “root for Palin.” I was just pointing out some flaws in various people’s (you included, tool) arguments. I offerd my opinions, which are clearly not what interest you. And I corrected you and dressed you down for your silly little rant. I’m sure you’re used to that.

Of course all you can do is laugh. You have nothing else to offer. You are sorely ill-equipped to engage in a spirited (if sometimes vitriolic) discussion. That’s what I expect from a tool.

Again, I didn’t call you names at the start, or anyone else but OBD. And I only slapped at him because, well, that seems to be the way he rolls. I’m sure he appreciates you running to his defense, though. The slaps at you didn’t really start until you decided to raise the level of the acerbic dialogue. But now that you give me the green light, have a swell day, tool.
