Lane Kiffin: Mega-Bag-O-Douche

Some people you can look at and tell right away that they are complete and total f*ck chops … like our founding editor, for example, or University of Tennessee head coach Lane Kiffin.

Seriously, people … just look at that guy and try to keep the words “douche bag” from popping into your mind.

It’s like gravity, you just can’t fight it.

Anyway, Kiffin was reprimanded for the second time this season by the Southeastern Conference after he criticized SEC officials who worked the Volunteers’ 12-10 loss to Alabama in Tuscaloosa Saturday.

Specifically, Kiffin complained that Crimson Tide defensive lineman Terrence Cody should have been flagged for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty after he removed (and threw) his helmet on the last play of the game.

Cody blocked a 44-yard field goal attempt that would have given Tennessee an upset over then top-ranked Alabama – his second blocked kick of the game.

In addition to complaining about the no-call, Kiffin also whined that he didn’t run another offensive play prior to attempting the field goal because “I wasn’t going to let the refs lose the game for us there.”

Good Lord.

SEC Commissioner Mike Slive added that Kiffin could be suspended if he keeps up his whiny ways.

“This is the second reprimand for Coach Kiffin in this calendar year,” Slive said in a statement. “Coach Kiffin is on notice that any further violations of SEC policies will subject him to additional penalties, including suspension.”

Tennessee plays South Carolina in Knoxville on Halloween night in a game that will be televised nationally by ESPN.

Kiffin has been “on notice” with South Carolina fans for some time now owing to his attempted meddling with star recruit Alshon Jeffery.  The Volunteer coach told Jeffery that if he attended South Carolina he would end up “pumping gas for the rest of his life.”

Jeffery has over 400 yards receiving and five touchdowns in his last four games.

Since when is it wrong to give someone good advice?

As opposed to attending Tennessee and mastering in “do you want fries with that order?”…

Isn’t it only fair to conclude that time in jail will
be his most likely post-sports prospect?

This guy is a joke. Nothing wrong with talking a little junk to get your team and fans fired up but have a touch of class, get your facts right, and at least have a winning record to back it up.

Whoever wrote this little piece sounds like a sixthgrader on the playground, proud because his piece of Sh$% father taught him how to call other people bad names…
Admit it, people, you’re obviously fans of other teams who cannot stand the publicity UT is getting! I love it!! Keep it coming CLK!!! Get on the LANE TRAIN, or get run over!!!
Seems like there is a bit of JEALOUSY floating around on this site…

No my friend… you are a douche bag! You could only dream of being half as popular as Kiffin. He’s style is bringing in recruits and keeping a team in ballgames that no one gave them a chance to win. Mark my words, National ChampionshipS are in UT’s future!

The “Lane Train?”

We prefer to stay off of that.

Actually Kiffin never made the remark about pumping gas. Even Jeffery came out and said so. So if you’re gonna trash someone get your facts straight. And what about all the other coaches who’ve complained about the officiating? Looks like Slive is reprimanding the wrong person.

I am a big UT fan and Kiffie is being a little douchey. But, if he pulls off a couple top 5 recruiting classes in a row… the Vols will be a powerhouse in 2 years. Next year may be tough too and hopefully the doucheness will tone down.

The bigger story is that Bama is a joke on offense and Florida isn’t much better. If you see what Kiffie and co. have done with Crompton, imagine what they could do with those teams.

Seems to me that most of the Lane bashers are from FL or SC. They forget the King of Douches (all-time), Steve Spurrier. Could it be they fear the Kiffin? Very curious.

Interesting point-of-view this is not. Very poor jornalism – slanted and uncouth…

The only “Douch” I see around here is the writer of this piece. Bet he still hasn’t figured out if his A$$ has been punched, bored, or dug out with a grub hoe.

Sulli is a liar.

Jeffrey has NOT backed off stating that Kiffin made the comment. Nor have the witnesses from Calhoun County that heard it too.

They don’t call them Viles for nothing.
