It’s been eleven days since dozens of breathless S.C. lawmakers learned that their boss, S.C. Speaker Bobby Harrell, had created his own Twitter page.
Almost reflexively, they took to their own Tweety pages and Facebook sites to excitedly trumpet this major news, remarking how they “couldn’t wait” to see what “the Speaker” would Tweet about first.
Ooooh!
Of course, we provided our list of predictions, too.
Alas, though … eleven days later there is still no joy in (RINO) Tweetville, as Harrell has yet to “Twit a peep.”
What’s the hold up?
After all, Harrell’s minions were all over Wikipedia, remember?
One reason for the delay this week might be that Harrell and his Communications Director, Greg “The Brain” Foster (and Foster’s lovely wife, Ashley) are spending this week down at the exclusive Cloister at Sea Island resort on the Georgia coast, where they are, um, “working” at the State Legislative Leaders Foundation (SLLF)’s 18th National Speakers Conference.
The Fosters are reportedly using the five-day getaway to celebrate their wedding anniversary.
So … is this trip on the taxpayer dime?
After all, the House and Senate are provided with generous travel allowances each year … but rooms at the Cloister don’t come cheap.
Last time we were down that way, they started at around $400 a night. Suites? Those run around $900 a night.
