Washington and have no idea if he is doing well in his current job, but I'd be willing to bet that these comments about "crazy" and "drunk" churches were references to the Book of Acts when onlookers thought the disciples were drunk after Pentacost and the coming of the Holy Spirit. ESC only had 1 person whose salary was split between state and federal funding. The State of South Carolina wasn't involved in ANY part of ESC. It worked out GREAT because ESC didn't answer to the Political whims and neurosis the Governor and General Assembly. As a bonus the Federal Government kept everything audited and there were clear lines of communication. It's Idiotic to have a Cabinet under the Governor's Office. Costs double and State Agencies are subjected to the Whims of any 1 person (Governor). You know there was a time when ESC was 100% federally funded.
