praying hands

U.S. Rep. Gresham Barrett – or whoever “Tweets” for him – evidently took the “Balloon Boy” saga (hoax?) that mesmerized America for several hours yesterday very seriously, offering repeated prayers for the child on his campaign Twitter page.

“Praying for the safe return of the boy stuck in the balloon in Colorado,” Barrett’s campaign Tweeted Thursday. “Our thoughts are with his family.”

Barrett wasn’t done praying, though.

When the balloon landed – with no boy in it – Barrett send another update to his approximately 2,100 followers.

“Reports are now saying that there is no boy inside of the balloon,” Barrett’s campaign Tweeted.  “Our prayers continue for the boy and his family.”

Sheesh.

It seems implausible to believe the family actually say one of the children video taped the 6 year old child getting into that jiffy pop balloon contraption with a supposed cardboard bottom and he could somehow be able to secure himself inside of it?? If the boy’s weight is between 40-45 lbs.and the speed of the balloon is traveling @ approximately 25 miles per hr in a 2 hour span at an elevation exceeding 500′ in the air and it finally lands around 50 miles from the home the scientist father logically explain exactly how he woud believe his son could have been inside of it? It truly defys logic and sounds like a publicity stunt or hoax of some sort. It is most unfortunate for parents to involve small children in dangerous activities, such as storm chasing, mommie swapping and bogus balloon mischief.

Could it be Barrett “prayed” the boy out of the balloon? Incontrovertible proof that prayer (specifically Gresham Barrett’s prayer) works?

By CNSYD on October 16th, 2009 at 10:19 am

Barrett is as phony as a $3 bill. Even if he did pray for the boy, which I doubt, would he have prayed that the boy would NOT have a safe return to his family? Duh!

Going to go out on a limb and say there were a lot of folks that were praying for him. It kind of happens when you 1) are a person of faith and 2) believe that a child is in danger.

I guess the next thing will be to pray for the participants in police chases which CNN, MSNBC, FOX love to cover as if they were national news items.
Apparently, if it can be filmed from a helicopter that makes it news worthy.

It was a hoax, peeps.

I don’t know about that ballon thing….but earlier this week I did see a little girl, with pigtails, whiz over the top of my trailer with a little dog hanging out of a small basket. Supposedly Shaw Air Force Base dispatched a F-16 to investigate, but was unable to identify her. Oh well.

hoax or not, the balloon boy gave his parents a heck of a lot of publicity in return for minimal effort on their part

Funny you mention Shaw. One Falcon and another. Took 24 hours to find some wreckage. Anybody seen it?

Are we to believe that Barrett is the ONLY politician who had their staff twittering on this? Don’t think so.

“And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men.” (Matthew 6:5)

Here is what makes this article hilarious.

This site posts articles of even fluffier content than their South Carolina “political news” with popular search topics. This is why loyal FITS readers read about Marisa Miller now and not Lindsay Lohan. Then other people come to this site thinking, “OMG are there naked pics of Marisa Miller?” Only to be let down.

Gresham pimps a little balloon boy love to add followers to his tweets. Is it a cheap ploy to get internet attention? Absolutely.

See what I did there?
