Two S.C. State Senators with a history of questionable travel practices will once again “trot the globe” on the taxpayer dime, this time taking their show on the road to the Land of the Rising Sun.

Konnichiha, y’all!

Senate Finance Chairman Hugh Leatherman (RINO-Florence) and Sen. Yancey McGill (D-Williamsburg) will travel to Japan later this month to participate in “economic development” meetings on behalf of the North Eastern Strategic Alliance, a regional economic development outfit that receives state funding.

FITS readers will recall that this is the same group that paid for Leatherman and McGill to take their wives on a European Vacation two years ago under the auspices of an “economic development” mission.

Obviously, the South Carolina delegation didn’t do much in the way of “economic developing” (as evidenced by “North Eastern” part of the state’s astronomical unemployment rate), but they did spend plenty of time touring castles and cathedrals, taking ferry boat rides, visiting art museums, attending wine tastings and even participating in a “meditation service,” according to a copy of the trip’s itinerary.

Nice.

Sadly, the only politician in South Carolina who has historically shown any willingness to stand up to this sort of garbage now has his own globetrotting problems

One thing to note though; Hugh and Yancy have been quiet in this whole Sanford thing. They have not been “holier than thou” or hypocritical.

Andre Bauer, the globetrotting ethically challenged boy candidate. has given a new name to hypocrisy.

Northen Alliance…..???

Where were these two hootz last night at the SC Offshore Wind Forum in Georgetown….???

It was standing room only…!?! Mr Campbell and Mr. Danny Verdin were there..! At least they CARE…!!

Its is really telling that Hugh and Yancey were AWOL….!!

This is a very political CYA in progress and it is being made clear by these two just HOW IMPORTANT OFF-Shore and On-shore wind generated ENERGY is to them….!!!

I must admit that the Post and Courier only gave a 8 hr heads up or so. Maybe they just had more pressing ISSUES than our LOCAL ENERGY..?? Hopefully they spent some quality time with the WIFE and kids..!!

One glaring “No Show” was the team of HENRY Brown and James Clyburn…!!! Our “Sweet 16″ team missed a golden time to present a team spirit…!!

There were reporters and cameras…the works..!?!

Sanford has never stood up to this kind of thing in any way other than as a hypocrit. He led the National League in Congressional junkits during his tenure and has flown the friendly skies quite a bit as Gov. He has no standing to ever talk about ANOTHER POLITICIAN. HE LIES!

From the reporting in this article, the real LIE is the TRUTH that is NOT being discussed…!?!?

LOL…!!

These fellows are going after Inglis because of his position on JOE WILSON..??

This is a classic Party stunt….!!! And no reporter or paper is going to call them ALL out on it…!?!?

BOB INGLIS …is a sitting DUCK !!! Voters don’t realize they are actually watching an AFLAC Commercial…!?!? Bob Inglis is really Yogi Berra…!!! LOL…!!!

Bob Inglis really is looking OUT for GE workers and OUR state’s WIND ENERGY……!!!

GE Workers are actually LIVID about the backslappin that is costing their bottom line and PENSIONS concerning OUR ports and the outlook of manufacturing the turbine BLADES right here in our STATE…!!!

Whether its Georgetown, Charleston or Jasper, IT DOESN’T MATTER TO THEM…!!! These workers and fine ENGINEERS know the TRUTH…!! They can build low WIND turbines just as good as http://www.selsam.com …!!

These workers know that CELL PHONE tower should be WIND TURBINES also….just much TALLER….!!!

If BOB keeps on talkin’ to who he is BEEN talkin’ too……look out !!

At least they are making an effort to try and drum up economic development.

Can anyone name the times that Sanford has lifted a finger to help out?

When other states are sending governors to meet and develop relationships-we are sending entry level flunkies, if we send anyone. Sanford never seemed to grasp how important personal relationships are in economic development.

I guess that is because he was focused on his own personal relationships-to the detriment of SC.
