Who is James Galyean?

We have no idea, but he’s got guns, dogs, cattle, old people and family values galore going down on his website, which we have to admit is one of the slickest looking Internet homes we’ve ever seen for a political race in South Carolina.

Galyean also received some love the other day from RedState.com, which we presume is some Republican-centric website that has a clue what he’s running for.

Here’s what Red State’s Erick Erickson had to say about him:

When I linked to (Galyean’s) website to comment on the website, I did not know who he is. Now I do. You may want to consider throwing some money his way. There are several good guys in this race, but this candidate is the guy who helped write the Guantanamo Bay protocols, etc. It would piss the left off to no end if this guy were elected to Congress. Heads would explode among all the right people.

We may very well need to line up behind him. Besides, if he gets in Congress it decreases the chances of the left prosecuting the guys who made us safe. Having one of their own in Congress sends a strong message that we aren’t too keen on Eric Holder trying to prosecute those who have kept us safe.

Ah, now we’ve got it now … Galyean is running for the Third Congressional District, where there are plenty of guns, dogs, cattle, old people and family values.

And one absolutely adorable little girl …

galyean pray

Seriously … is that the cutest thing you’ve ever seen or what?  Well, assuming it’s not a “Rent-A-Daughter.”  Ordinarily, we can’t stand such overt appeals to Bible-thumpers, but ever since our founding editor had his own little bundle of joy, stuff like this just melts him.

Nice move, Mr. Galyean.  You have officially found our soft underbelly.

I think that ee used to be some sort of legal guy for Sen. Graham’s office.

I went to law school with James. At the time, he struck me as a really good guy amidst a whole pile of well-connected fraternity boys who would eventually go on to work for their fathers’ (or their fathers’ friends’) firms. Just a really nice guy, with a clear sense of who he was and what he was about. Solid conservative. I am very happy to see him getting involved in politics! We need many more like him!

This guy has too nice of a website (that even has a very nice web-ad that seems to be packaged to run on television where two cute girls play moms in sundresses are talking about healthcare) for us not to have known who he is before seeing your site. I’m not in the 3rd (I’m in the 4th) but I’m still surprised I have not heard any fellow politicos talk about this guy yet.

So far the names I’ve heard of in the 3rd CD race are a typical establishment Harrell-esque pol (Rex Rice), another pol who at least warrents a look as he seems to be a major improvement from Rice on the pro-growth conservatism scale (Jeff Duncan), a guy who got elected to the State Senate like yesterday and can’t let his feet get a little wet before jumping to the next job (Shane Massey) and a young Republican like myself who might inspire a part of me, but who is likely guilty of seriously jumping the shark (Neal Collins).

I need to start checking Politics1.com more often for these lists of candidates in every race, including the random long-shots. Normally that’s what I’d think Galyean is but his website is too damn good for that to be true, right?

I hope this guy Galyean gets his mo-jo working for him.

Maybe it’s just the guns in the picture, but the way the photo is cropped it kind of looks like you’re looking down a gun scope. At least there’s no cross-hairs.

Also, looks like his vendors, the Stoneridge Group, has some history in SC:

Lets see and hear more on him. Looks a whole lot better than what we’ve gotten so far. Needs to be careful though….might be a pesky RINO since he’s from the state what breeds em. And remember ol mista kerry and his shotgun…..

I have known James and his wife for years, and they are as sincere as they can be. James is an extremely smart and thoughtful conservative, and I believe that we would all be proud to be represented by him.

Nothing screams “Palmetto State” quite like
guns and babies. Well, except for babies with
guns and, of course, Steve Spurrier. ERR, nevermind.

Galyean is the handpicked candidate of Lindsey Graham. Graham’s staff is raising all Galyean’s money. If you want another RINO you should go for Graham’s guy.

The website bio states that Galyean “served…Senator Lindsey Graham.” Not sure what he means by that, but either way, it might cost him votes.

I’ve known James since he was a young law clerk in Governor Beasley’s office. He is a bright, thoughtful, sincere conservative. He is precisely the kind of person that a Republican would want in Congress.

    RINO Hunter,

Though entirely predictable, the “he worked for Lindsey, he’s a RINO” garbage isn’t going to work. Same goes for the fundraising nonsense.

James also served as counsel to Senator Thurmond and as Asst. U.S. Attorney. You must have accidentally left that out.

The best part of your post is that your “handle” links back to RedState, which has advocated for James twice within the last week.

    Well played, dude. Well played.

Voting for the guy with the cute kids and perky wife is what got us Sanford. Let’s dig a little deeper this time, folks.

Are there many politicians in this state without cute kids and a perky wife? I haven’t noticed.

I know this guy and I beg you to dig as far as you can about him because the more you know about him the more reasons you have to vote for him and not just because he has amazingly cute children and a wonderful wife (which are all his in the pictures, or ones that I have seen)
