Gamecocks Ranked No. 22 (For Now)
South Carolina climbed three spots in the latest Associated Press poll and cracked the USA Today-Coaches’ poll for the first time this season, coming in at No. 22 in both major college football rankings.
It could be a short stay in the rarefied air, however, as Steve Spurrier’s Gamecocks travel to Tuscaloosa, Alabama this Saturday to play Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide, which jumped ahead of Texas to claim the No. 2 ranking in the AP poll. Alabama remained third in the coaches’ poll.
The Tide (6-0, 3-0 SEC) will obviously be heavily favored at home against South Carolina – a game that will be televised nationally on ESPN.
Not surprisingly, Florida remains the No. 1 team in the nation after its workmanlike 13-3 win over No. 4 LSU in Baton Rogue Saturday night. The loss dropped the Bayou Bengals to No. 10 in both polls, but not out of the national championship hunt.
Two SEC teams fell from the rankings, Ole Miss (which lost to Alabama) and previously-undefeated Auburn (which was thrashed by Arkansas).
Take a look at both polls below …

Boyzee St #5, yeah riight. Wasn’t it just “yesterday” that Mississippi was in that spot? Nothing like political correctness in sports rankings. Check out the Boyz from Boyzee St, their conference, and their wins and tell me they deserve a #5 ranking. Hell they should be unranked just for having a blue field.

please someone explain how Oklahoma is ranked 20 with two losses. Can’t assume they will be better down the road with the schedule they have left. Especially when Byu was one of their losses and has a better record now than OK.

Now that’s change I can believe in.
