Everyone, check it out. An article basically stating that Patrick Swayze’s character in the movie “Dirty Dancing” should be considered a child sex offender if people are going to demand Polanski come back to America & serve prison time.

I know it sounds unbelievable, but before you call me crazy, read it. Read the responses to the article.

I support that Sic and FITS are trying to address serious political problems. I understand the need for anonymous sources. I understand fighting fire with fire. However, that article should never have appeared anywhere, if for no other reason than the blatant ridiculousness of it, or, by posting it, to simply let people know some sick individuals have this point of view. If it weren’t about such a serious issue, it would warrant no response.

FITS, I noticed you don’t have that article or the SC “Another Day, Another Scandal” article on the homepage SC Politics. Apparently, you’re at least decent enough not to remove Mande’s article entirely.

However, address the issue & deal with the fact that other blogs & some MSM will probably rake you over the coals on this one. Not to mention that anyone “reporting” or simply discussing anything should never say, “I just don’t feel like getting into the ins and outs of it, so I’m dodging your question,” or “I never let facts get in the way of my opinion,” and there’s more.

Again, what must victims of child sex abuse think about people like Mande posting such an article?

As curious as some of Mr. Branton’s musings may be, he has the same right to try and gain acceptance for his thoughts in the marketplace of ideas as anyone else.
