UPDATED: “Powdered Letter” Arrives At Capital Complex
A suspicious “powdered letter” sent by a prisoner to S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford has shut down one of the busiest offices in state government, sources tell FITS.
Employees of the governor’s correspondence office in the Wade Hampton Building – a stone’s throw from the State House – have been evacuated from the building while the Federal Bureau of Investigation and various hazardous materials teams assess the suspicious letter, which was received late Tuesday morning.
Sources say the letter – which came from a South Carolina prison – said “Swine” on it, although it wasn’t immediately clear whether that was the extent of the message.
The identity of the sender has also yet to be disclosed.
Last December, Sanford was one of nine U.S. governors to receive a fake anthrax letter, which also arrived at the Wade Hampton building and was also opened by a staffer in the correspondence office. That letter prompted a similar evacuation of the building and investigation.
Sources tell FITS that Governor’s Office staffer Katherine Thomas is the employee who opened this particular letter, which arrived shortly before 11:00 a.m. Tuesday. Sources tell FITS that Thomas is not exhibiting any adverse health-related symptoms at this point as a result of coming in contact with the letter.
Her condition is reportedly being monitored, however, along with the condition of two of her co-workers who were said to be in the room with her when the power fell out of the letter.

I do hope Mrs. Thomas and the 2 coworkers will be fine.
Yet another strong example of how close this state and nation are to descending into complete revolutionary chaos. Once that happens, and I pray it doesn’t, the extremists from all countries the U.S. has roused into action will launch a full attack. We will all be sitting ducks, from the top of D.C. to the homeless man.
Why do the wealthy elitists in government and the military never learn? Another frightening truth is that some of these elitists desire for this to happen. It’s extremely easy to set up an all-inclusive power base, by them and for them, when countries are in a state of chaos. We’re already there with every beauracratic office of this nation. Nazi Germany, anyone?
How terribly tragic, especially for our kids and especially for those in foreign nations so willing to work with us on promoting peace and advancing all respective aspects of this planet we call home. That’s not mentioning the fact that many nations have invested in this country and worked equally as hard as anyone born in America to make it a great nation in the right ways.

The letter contained a white powder and came from a SC prison. Will, is your buddy Thomas Ravenel still locked locked up?

And WTF is Laura Campbell talking about? Take a Xanax, sweetie pie.

Art,
Don’t need a Xanax, but thanks for the advice. It’s not my problem if you can’t understand what you read.
Simply put, so you can comprehend, if people in prison are brave enough to send a powdered letter to the governor, people are pretty pissed, security is pretty lax, and we should all be concerned. Two employees’ health was potentially jeopardized. From here, open your eyes and comprehend the condition our nation is in, jackass.
God, it’s annoying when people have to resort to snide comments because they can’t comprehend.

I’ve noticed a trend on this site, in the MSM, and elsewhere.
A serious issue such as this one, or the one FITS did about the kids in Florida being killed, recieve very few responses. A political scandal or “politicos behaving badly” article is posted, and people respond en masse.
Perhaps what we respond to, how many respond, and how we respond is an issue worthy of discussion in itself. Perhaps it needs to be addressed.
Perhaps the politicians believe that if we are such slaves to the cult of personality, we deserve what we get and that their actions are justified.
