When four-fifths of a reality TV cast is black, criticism is verboten – especially when that cast happens to have the unmitigated temerity to be rich and black, the combination of which assaults the upwardly mobile sensibilities that marks (marked?) Americana.
So, given Sic Willie’s recent treatment of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, the FITS girls are either racists or haters. Or both, possibly.
Pas moi, people.
Frankly, Housewives is the best thing to happen for women – well, certain women – since Leave it to Beaver‘s June Cleaver. Here are five women who live it up and live out loud, and still manage to be as endearingly, stealthily skeptical about their own hype as are the viewers.
These enterprising broads make a reported $30,000 per episode, spinning a brand out of thin air and in so doing exposing skill and talent and accomplishment for the farce they so apparently are. That right there is capitalism at its finest … FITS should eat that up!
It’s the alchemy of the new millennium, with an archaic twist: Synthesizing gold is out, and digging for it is back in. It’s retro-vintage-glam capitalism – old-school profiteering in a new media world.
See? Right up FITS’ alley.
I might be inciting a girl riot here, but I’ve got to figure that the FITS girls are bitter. Which is why I propose a pitch for a reality show of FITS’ own.
Y’all can’t beat ‘em, so you might as well join ‘em. And bonus: at $30,000 a show, you ladies could afford a mammary re-up.
Until then, keep hating on Kim … she finds your bitterness validating, anyway.

The Fits Girls must be part of the good old party network; therefore, disliking those that look different than they do – period. The fact that they have money puts the hate in it! If you ask Bravo, why RHOA out numbers all the other RH’s, its because white and blacks watch their show. Who gives a crap about the others – ok, maybe RHONJ comes close.
