Kate Plus … Yawn

A few years ago, Jon and Kate Gosselin were normal, Jesus-loving parents who lived in a normal neighborhood and took their eight kids on fun trips to museums and stuff.

Today?  They’re a pair of insufferable tabloid whores who seem intent on using their children against each other as the milk every last second of their shared fifteen minutes (seconds?) of fame.

It’s sad … but it’s also sadly something America can’t seem to stop watching.

And so we have the latest drama in “The Great National Drama,” which consists of Jon aiming to put the kibosh on Kate Plus 8, which is the new name for The Learning Channel (TLC) show formerly known as Jon and Kate Plus 8.

“Effective immediately, no production crews are to enter Jon’s family home for any reason,” reads a letter from Jon’s attorneys to TLC’s lawyers. “In the event that anyone enters the marital property, Jon Gosselin will notify the local authorities to effectuate police action against any trespassers.”

Apparently after all these years of kid exploitation, Jon has found religion.

Kate and TLC immediately put out statements blasting Jon.

“I’m saddened and confused by Jon’s public media statements,” Kate told People.  “Jon has never expressed any concerns to me about our children being involved in the show and, in fact, is on the record as saying he believes the show benefits our children and was taping on Friday with the kids.”

Frankly, at this point yanking those kids off the television and putting them into therapy might not be a bad idea.

That … or give them to some parents who care more about their actual well-being and less about their monetary and media value.
