Our friends at Deadspin published a hilarious photo gallery the other day on the greatest “prank jerseys” in sports. The winner – or, winners – were two New York Jets’ jerseys that read “Dirty Sanchez.”
The latter of the two jerseys is obviously in honor of Jets’ quarterback Mark Sanchez (who last week became the first rookie in NFL history to start – and win – his first three games at the quarterback position), but what of the “DIRTY?”
What’s that all about?
Umm … okay … here’s the very NSFW definition page for the term “Dirty Sanchez” from Urban Dictionary. For the record, we’d like to point out that definition #3 is technically the correct term (the “other” is indeed known as a “Dirty Rodriguez”).
Also, sometimes a donkey punch and the yelling of “Aye-yay-yar-eee-ba!!!” are involved.
Anyway, for the rest of the photo gallery of funny jerseys, click here …

Technically, I think Big Ben started and won his first 13 or 14 games. He was not the starter in his first game, which was a loss, but finished it when the Ravens knocked out the starter.

Also, the Bono jersey isn’t really a prank jersey. I think that’s Steve Bono’s jersey. Unless Deadspin thinks it’s a “prank” to wear a legit jersey somewhere where someone with the same name is present.
