Pawlenty Gears (Cheeses) Up
Since the last presidential election took place less than a year ago, it figures that any number of cookie cutter white Republicans regurgitating the same old betrayed GOP talking points are already forming their presidential pre-committees for the next election.
One of them?
Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, who hails from the land of Kirby Puckett, Fargo and permanent brain freezes. Seriously, people. You know that feeling you get when you eat your Wendy’s Frosty too fast?
That’s how Minnesotans’ brains feel all the time …
Anyway, from AP:
Pawlenty filed paperwork Thursday with federal regulators to form his Freedom First PAC, a national fundraising committee he can use to aid GOP candidates in upcoming elections. Past presidential candidates have started such committees to raise their profile ahead of a White House run, a possibility Pawlenty hasn’t ruled out.
Pawlenty introduces himself and touches on his anti-tax, strong-defense political philosophy in a video message on a new Web site that went live Thursday.
“This is an important time in America. The stakes are high and standing on the sidelines isn’t an option. I’m making a commitment to you to fight for our principles,” he said. “I’m asking for your support and I want to hear your voice.”
Good Lord.
“I’m making a commitment to you?”
“I want to hear your voice?”
Pardon us, but is this a friggin’ presidential announcement or an Air Supply video? Because we’re confused … and not in a good way.
FITS readers will remember Pawlenty as the guy who became the head of the Republican Governor’s Association when S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford stepped down earlier this summer.
He said a bunch of cheesy crap back then, too, proving there’s no shortage of tan-fastic blowhards on the GOP bench.
The good news? With this guy and uber-cheesed*ck Mitt Romney both running for President in 2012, we’ll have more material than we know what to do with …

You say Air Supply, I say REO Speedwagon. And speaking of which, here’s another Luv Guv theme song for y’all (with subtitled translation in Spanish, for Maria of course)…

Agreed. A Huckabee/Rice ticket or even a Petraeus/Palin ticket may shake things up a little…

I saw Tim Pawlenty speak at a luncheon at the Republican Leaders Conference in Mackanic Island, MI over the weekend. He seems very passionate about conservatism. He’s got my vote.

And I’d rather have Mitt Romney as president over Obama any day of the week.

Mitt Romney for president? Have you read anything at all about the Mormon religion? If he can believe that made up bunch of malarkey, he doesn’t need to be anywhere near the White House.
Huckabee is nothing but a preacher and entertainer who is best suited for playing his bass guitar on Faux News.
Pawlenty has just as much of a chance as any other white guy who can recite talking points without taking a real stand on any of the important issues facing our country.
If this is the best the Republicans have to offer, Obama can just set it on auto pilot from here on out.

Red,
Obama owns the media. He’s a shoe-in in 2012. We all know that.

Pawlenty certainly has the art of shameless pandering to the right-wing down. Last week he issued an executive order eliminating all funding of ACORN by the state of Minnesota.
He failed to mention that ACORN was not receiving any funding from the state of Minnesota.

This is all sour grapes that HERO Sanford went down in flames> Who would you want to see run for Pres.?Who would get your support?
