sheheen

S.C. Sen. Vincent Sheheen, the current front-runner for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination, has hit the $700,000 mark in fund-raising for his 2010 campaign.

Sheheen – who made the announcement at a campaign fundraiser in Greenville, S.C. – becomes the first Democrat to reach $700,000, although it’s possible he could be matched (and perhaps even eclipsed) by liberal lobbyist Dwight Drake, whose campaign is expected to tap into a boatload of special interest money.

Also in the Democratic race? Charleston attorney Mullins McLeod, S.C. Sen. Robert Ford and S.C. Superintendent of Education Jim Rex – although among those only McLeod has raised substantial funds.

Two Republicans – U.S. Rep. Gresham Barrett and S.C. Attorney General Henry McMaster – have already raised more than a million dollars apiece, but those tallies include funds from previous campaign accounts.

All campaigns must report their totals to the State Ethics Commission by October 10 …

He has my vote!!

Vincent is a bright young man who just might be able to bring some fresh air, honesty and good work to the office. SC deserves better than the current crop of pols. If you really want to see some change in Columbia, take a close at Sheheen.

This guy managed to raise 700K?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcpQkueFHGw

He can’t get 200 people to watch him on youtube but he can raise 700K?

By Pat Hendrix on September 29th, 2009 at 11:23 pm

Vincent is great, but I have to throw my vote to Robert Ford. SC could brag that we were the first to elect a functional retard to state-wide office.

By Calhoun Fawls on September 30th, 2009 at 1:07 am

Daddy’s old foe Dwight Drake is hellbent on leaving Vinny boy wounded in the fall.

By Interloper on September 30th, 2009 at 3:40 am

S.C. already has plenty of functional retards in office.

If Sheheen is not getting hits on YouTube, he needs to hire someone to handle an Internet strategy for him. He should have pages on all social media, and, be getting out to meet and greet early. He would make a great contrast to the Luv Gov. simply by being sane.

Citizens………during your morning commute…ask yourself some questions..??

1) What one QUESTION has this man asked of ALL South Carolinians?
…can you think of one..?? If he has, then how easy is it to know what it is..??

2) Does this person really understand the ROOT of SC’s problem? If so, then has he gotten it across to YOU..?

3) Where does he stand on TERM LIMITS…? (For all South Carolina elected officials..)

4) Does he understand the importance of our PORTS..?

5) Does he understand that if an individual does not have choices then they are probably slaves to the un-choice they have.?

6) Since Obama wantz change, what actions has the gentleman taken to display that he is a changed DEMOCRAT..??

7) Does this fine fellow understand that it is not how much money you MAKE or RAISE, it is what he does with the funds…??

8) Since he is tossing his hat in to represent US all, what one PLANK in his Platform is a unifying issue..!?!?

9) Has he called ANYONE in his OWN party OUT ..??? …or is he a good ol’ Boyz.? …a sandlapper backslapper ??

…..citizens what questions come to your mind when you think Sheheen..?? …what feelings do you get? DO you FROWN? Do you smile..? DO you get a GLAZED look..?? Do you reach for your WALLET..??? DO you pop a BUDWEISER..??

10) What problem has this “SPORT” ….solved?

Sheheen is the guy that SC needs to represent our State!

By Brandon on September 30th, 2009 at 10:22 am

He’s a Democrat, pure and simple. But he will likely win the nomination, and will be the next gov.

By dirtbogger on September 30th, 2009 at 10:22 am

Philip Branton, good post I have met him and he is friendly, but that does not mean squat. He has not made any noise about where he stands and from what I can tell its all about having acquaintances and shaking hands and smiling, just trying to tread lightly and get votes. He was introduced to me as a good ole boy which does not impress me that much. Maybe I’m wrong, but I just want to know where he stands. I will only vote for candidates with liberty as the focal point of their campaigns.

By LStewart on September 30th, 2009 at 10:42 am

dirtbogger – if we were all so loud and raucous as Joe Wilson, nothing would get accomplished. Trust me, Vince has a very strong voice, and he knows when and where to use it. The campaign has hardly begun. You’ll be seeing a lot more from him. He is quality.

By political hack on September 30th, 2009 at 11:21 am

This guy will be the next governor of the state. The girls love him, he is a Democrat so he will get the minority vote and the rich white folk vote because of his Camden roots, which basically means that your shit doesn’t stink and you are of the upper echelon of equestrian society and society in general, sent by the Southern God himself. Or am I getting confused with Aiken? I remember seeing him on the news walking amongst the angry citizens encamped in front of the state house protesting Sanford’s stimulus refusal. He was really rallying the citizens of this state, all 15 of them that were there. Either way, everyone will probably think he will be able to go up to DC and get his picture taken with the dictator and he can rub elbows with him to try and get our state to suck even more on the Federal tit as an attempt to make up for our pesky ancestors who decided that they had enough of bending over and taking it from the Fed guvment some 149 years ago. I say we use some of our stimulus money to go ahead and cast a bronze statue of him to be put up as soon as he gets elected.

By a lot of money on September 30th, 2009 at 1:32 pm

700,000 K = $700M

By Interloper on September 30th, 2009 at 6:39 pm

If pro-slavery types like political hack are opposed to Sheheen, he must be doing something right.

By Commonman on September 30th, 2009 at 7:30 pm

Dirtbogger, let me know which candidates have come out against Liberty and I will mark them off my list. Got to be for Liberty. Maybe we need to check out the Libertarians. Oh, I forgot, they are too busy hiking the Appalachian Trail via Argentina with their soulmates. I agree with groundball. Philip needs to get his meds balanced. Go Sheheen!
