The “Forgiveness Tour” of S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford made its way to Lancaster, S.C. Thursday, with a visit to USC-Lancaster – one of several satellite campuses of the University of South Carolina that in a perfect world would be wiped from the face of the earth.

Seriously, people … we’ve got way too many institutions of higher learning in this state, which is one reason we spend way too much money on higher ed.

For more on that, click here.  For more on the ongoing “Goat Rodeo” that is the Sanford administration, check out this excerpt from the Rock Hill Herald:

Sanford chatted with students as he made his way across campus. When a student mentioned plans to major in journalism, Sanford broke out in a grin.

“Don’t go to the dark side,” he said, glancing at reporters nearby.

Afterward, Sanford went to the Lancaster Golf Club to speak to the Rotary Club. The governor said he was hesitant to make an apology for his Argentina trip this summer because the media could portray the visit as an “apology tour.” Nonetheless, he went on to apologize to the audience of 75 people.

“I’m clearly not running for president,” he added. “We clearly got that established. Which leaves the question, where do we go from here?”

Honestly, governor?  With you in the saddle, only God knows where we go from here … and since you’re so tight with the Almighty, maybe you could spare us all the drama and just tell us where we go from here?

Or would that be making a deal with the “dark side?”

The Dark Side (blogosphere and old media) is all in a tizzy because the Luv Guv is stayin’ the course. The citizens, however, are much more sympathetic, because they have a much better grasp of the situation. Luv Guv was living with an Ice Princess, which was not good. Then while on a trip to the Southern Hemisphere, he was bit by a particularly strong strain of the Argentinian Luv Bug. Now back to the music…

Sanford was in Beaufort speaking to Rotarians at a luncheon held at St Peters Catholic church, hmmmmm. To my surprise he was accompanied by Shannon Erickson. Makes you wonder about her NO vote on his impeachment.

Didn’t Sanford recommend closing USC-Lancaster this past session? I’ll bet he was welcomed with open arms!

According to several sources, Maria Belen Chapur is hard at work writing a memoir which will be published in Argentina soon

Translated, the title is: MARCO DIGS THE HOLES.

She will describe everything she knows about Mark Sanford, including his penchant for dressing up in drag like Ayn Rand and calling himself a “Lesbatarian.”
