For anybody sitting around wondering “where’s Will’s annual list of influential Palmetto politicos,” please accept our apologies.
Ever since Gov. Mark Sanford ran off to “hike the Appalachian Trail” (a.k.a. score some Argentine tail) our ordinarily tranquil summer has exploded into one hot steaming mess. An increasingly bizarre and annoying mess – not to mention one that holds an already struggling state back even further.
Anyway, we had originally planned to have this year’s installment of the list (the Palmetto Power 100) ready by the end of August, but that obviously didn’t happen. So yeah … our bad.
We’re not complaining about being super busy, though … it’s actually kinda nice. FITS has generated a whopping 3.1 million hits over the last three and a half months, and our new status as a semi-legitimate outlet is pretty cool.
Sure the state of South Carolina is going down the tubes, but that’s not our problem!
All this is by way of saying that we’re postponing the release of our list until December, or as one of our fave taxpayer-funded lobbyists told us recently, “Merry Christmas – you’re not important.”
Thanks for y’alls patience … in the meantime you can continue reading “Confessions of an Overworked White Man” right here …
