In a political prank that even Rick James would describe as “cold-blooded,” S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford’s chief of staff has been sent an application to work at a local McDonald’s fast food restaurant.
Scott English – who FITS readers will recall was a central figure during the recent Kristin Maguire drama – was sent the application anonymously this week by a well-known S.C. political operative, ostensibly as a means of drawing attention to the diminishing job prospects of the governor’s right hand man. No other message was included with the application, and the operative who sent it declined to elaborate after news of the prank wafted back to FITS headquarters Tuesday.
“It speaks for itself,” the operative told FITS.
English has been widely-rumored to be seeking an “exit strategy” from Sanford’s office in recent weeks, although few local firms appear interested in hiring him – particularly not at the six-figure salary he is said to be requesting.
Approached recently with the rumor that he was planning on leaving Sanford, English flatly dismissed it.
We’ll try to find out what he does with his McDonald’s application …

They have McDonald’s in Buenos Aires.
If he got a job there, he could say he served both Mark and Maria.

They should have sent one to Sinfraud also.He seems to have married his
wife for her money and hate her guts for it at the same time.Once divorced,he could always use an extra source of income.

Well I guess the sender wasn’t so anonymous if known to be a SC political operative, but that’s besides the point. If most if not all things in life happen for love or money, than I would go for the love angle when it comes to working at McDonald’s, the girls and the fries!

McDonald’s should be careful. That fat, sweaty asshole will eat them out of business.

While there is no way to right what Sanford did, taking it out on staff members who’ve worked hard is not the right way to express your opinions. While English may not be anyone’s favorite person, he still has a family and a life. It’s simply not okay to use political tactics to justify ruining someone’s career because they happened to work for Sanford. There has been no proof that Scott or anyone else on staff assisted Sanford with his illegal and dishonest behavior. I feel sorry for Sanford’s staff and hope that when all is said and done, they come out on top. Stay strong staffers!!

After Gov. Mark Sanford admitted leaving the country for a secret tryst in Argentina, the Department of Homeland Security suspended the governor’s security clearance because of questions raised about his “lack of candor” and “trustworthiness” to protect classified information, federal documents show. http://www.postandcourier.com/news/2009/sep/16/questions-judgment-candor-led-sanford-security-cle/
Maybe they should be looking at his whole staff too?

As much a I dislike Sanford and all of his toadies, no one should have to work at a place that serves tortured and killed animals. I would rather Sanford work somewhere out of state. English, I don’t know. Maybe, he could be creative and apply at our local unemployment offices. That way he could see how his boss’ actions and the lack thereof, have hurt so many people.

“There has been no proof that Scott or anyone else on staff assisted Sanford with his illegal and dishonest behavior.” I agree having worked for some jerks in my career. Hopefully, the Ethics probe will at the very least clear staff of any wrongdoing. IF Sanford were a stand up guy, he would make sure that his staff was protected from any blame. As we have seen, that’s a pretty big IF.

You silly “operatives” and your practical jokes.
Funny, you and your kind go on and on about the “distraction” Sanford is causing. The real answer is you idiots carry a stick and stir it up whenever things seem to settle down and then blame Sanford.
Geez, the way you go on, you are like a scorned lover of Mark Sanford. Now the puppetmasters got you going after the staff? Your street cred is really taking a hit these days. At least, we know who pays to advertise with the MSM.
If the genius running this site can feed a family, I’d bet any of Sanford’s non-felon former employees should be able to do so.
