“Bailout” Barrett Bailed On Wilson Vote

We would rather have moss grow on our backs than “Stand With” redneck S.C. Congressman Addison Graves “Joe” Wilson, but apparently it’s a big deal to certain Republicans.

Just ask U.S. Rep. Bob Inglis, who on Tuesday voted in favor of a U.S. House resolution “admonishing” Wilson for screaming “you lie” at President Barack Obama during a joint session of Congress last week.  Or you could ask gubernatorial candidate Gresham Barrett (above), who was not present for the vote.

Perhaps not surprisingly, it didn’t take long for a website with ties to Henry McMaster – one of Gresham’s gubernatorial opponents – to pounce on Barrett’s conspicuous absence.

From the always-subtle Palmetto Scoop:

… Rep. Gresham Barrett was too busy campaigning for governor in South Carolina to defend hid friend Wilson. Barrett was working the cocktail circuit in Columbia and recorded a no vote on the resolution, which passed 240-179.

Interestingly, Barrett released a web video Tuesday calling on Democrats to “back off Wilson.” As usual, though, Barrett’s words speak much louder than his actions.

Oh blah.

And in case anybody’s forgotten, we think Barrett is quite possibly the biggest douche bag hypocrite to seek public office in the history of this state … and that’s on the days we’re speaking kindly of him.

Our only question is this: Do we really have nine months of this petty douchebaggery left until the 2010 GOP gubernatorial primary?

Because this is already pointless and annoying … not unlike the S.C. Republican Party, come to think of it.

I like my Republicans more Caucasian than this.

Not enough of that pinky pink you see on the piglet ceramics at the BBQ joints.

Just a personal preference, that’s all.

“petty douchebaggery”

One for books. Worthy of a Mencken nod.

Though personally I’d probably tinker with it: “petit-douchebaggery,” to further irritate the francophobes and antieducated.
